0 <br />,284 <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />-March 17,.1941 <br />8:00 P. M. <br />Upon roll call the following were present: Councilmen L. C. Christensen, E. A. <br />Fletcher, F. D. Granger, G. W. McNulty, W. M. Werder, Mayor H. F. Anderson, <br />and C. W. Eltringham, City Clerk.; absent, Councilman H. W. Edmonds. <br />The minutes of the regular meeting of March;3, 1941, were approved on motion of <br />Councilman Werder, seconded by Councilman Christensen. <br />There was read a letter from the May Day Celebration Committee of Los Banos, <br />California, inviting the City of Redwood City to participate.in a celebra- <br />tion May 1 to May 4. This letter was ordered referred to the Redwood City <br />Chamber of Commerce. <br />On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman McNulty, the City Col- <br />lector was authorized to execute a contract with G. A. Wildman for the sale <br />of Lot 5, Block 7, New High School Acres, for the sum of 0600, payable X60 <br />upon the signing of the contract and the remainder at the rate of $10 per <br />month with interest at the rate of 6% per annum. <br />The City Manager, in a letter addressed to the Council, stated that Mr. Henry <br />Witte had asked a meeting of members of the City Council with merchants and <br />property owners on Broadway and El Camino Real on Friday evening, March 21, (� <br />at 7:30 P. M., for the purpose of discussing the parking lot situation. 11� <br />Permission was <br />granted <br />the San <br />Carlos <br />Community <br />Church to <br />hold <br />a rummage <br />sale <br />In Redwood <br />City on <br />either <br />March <br />28 and 29 <br />or April 4 <br />and 5 <br />on motion <br />of <br />Councilman Granger, seconded by Councilman Fletcher. <br />A letter from the Pacific Greyhound Bus Company relative to plans for acquiring <br />a new bus depot in Redwood City which would eliminate the parking of buses <br />on streets was referred to the City Manager. <br />On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Christensen, permission <br />was granted the Redwood Highlands Company to resubdivide Lot 17 and a por- <br />tion of Lot 16 in Block 2, Lots 1, 2, and 3 in Block 6, Lot 10 in Block 7, <br />Lot 3 in Block 10, Oak Knoll Manor, in accordance with recommendations of <br />the Planning Commission. <br />The City Manager, in a letter addressed to the Council, stated Dewey Brown, 139 <br />Nueva Street, had appeared before the Planning Commission to complain about <br />the unsightly appearance of the house at 135 Nueva Street. A report of the <br />Health Department relative to inspection of the premises was read. Mr. <br />Brown addressed the Council in connection with this matter and explained1111 <br />owners of the property adjacent of 135 Nueva Street were not principally <br />
