After discussion this matter was <br />ordered placed on the agenda for the next meeting, and City Building Inspector <br />and Fire Chief were ordered to inspect the premises and to report at that <br />time. <br />The Board of Review presented for adoption the Civil Service Position Classifi- <br />cation Plan. Robert Littler, a member of the Board of Review, asked that <br />this classification plan be adopted as submitted, although it was the opinion <br />of the Board amendments were necessary, and after further study recommenda- <br />tions for such amendments would be submitted to the Council. On motion of <br />Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Christensen, the Position Classi- <br />fication Plan was adopted as submitted. <br />On motion of Councilman Christensen, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, the Rules <br />and Regulations submitted by the City Manager to govern the Personnel System <br />were adopted. <br />Elton H. Wiley, president of United•Veterans Council, asked that consideration <br />be given to an appropriation in the amount of approximately $170 for a new <br />ceiling in the Veterans Hall. On motion of Councilman Granger, seconded by <br />Councilman Fletcher, this matter was referred to the City Manager to be <br />brought before the Council at the time of preparing the next city budget. <br />Ray Marshall, 1001 Iris Street, addressed the Council in connection with cer- <br />tain buildings being -constructed on Hudson Street between Vera and Roose- <br />velt. Mr. Marshall stated that deeds to the property in this location <br />restricted the value of buildings placed thereon not less than $2500 but <br />doubted if the above buildings met,this requirement. It was explained that <br />the city had no control over the amount that must be expended for buildings <br />as long as they comply with the ordinances, therefore this matter should be <br />taken up with the original property owners. <br />The matter of flood conditions on Oxford Street was ordered placed on the agenda <br />for the next meeting. <br />In connection with abatement proceedings on the building situated at the south- <br />east corner of Main and Spruce Streets owned by Miss Lillian Kuck, after <br />reviewing plans and specifications submitted for alterations and remodeling <br />and hearing explanations of the Building Inspector relative to the proposed <br />alterations, Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Christensen pro- <br />posed the adoption of a resolution declaring the building a public nuisance <br />and directing the owner to abate same within thirty days from the passage <br />0 <br />0 <br />Q�i j13�1 <br />
