24
The City Manager explained in connection with the retirement system that it
would be necessary to revise the actuarial reports, and requested authori-
zation to do so at a cost not to exceed $75. Authorization granted on•
motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Werder.'.
A communication from the Health Department relative to the -enforcement of
Ordinance No. x-51 (regulating keeping of animals and fowls) was -read.
Antone Peterson, building contractor, representing Miss Lillian Kuck, ad-
dressed the Council in connection with the building.located at Spruce
and Main Streets, and asked what improvements were necessary to this
building iri order to avoid abatement proceedings. Mr..,Peterson stated
the building was in a bad condition but could be repaired at a small
cost and that Miss Kuck was willing to spend whatever amount necessary
to place the building in first-class condition. It was explained to
Mr. Peterson that this building was in the first fire zone, that the cost
of improving the building would exceed the amount permitted by ordinance,
and must therefore be removed. The Council, however, expressed its willing-
ness to permit Miss Kuck to remove the building from its present location
to some position in the rear of the property.'
Councilman Granger brought up for discussion the -matter of sewers overflowing
i' in the vicinity of East Brewster and Alden Streets. It was agreed that
S
something should be done to over come this condition and the matter was
referred to the City Manager for study.
Adjournment.
CWE:MM
C. W.
