M <br />299 <br />MINUTES OF ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING_ <br />REDWOOD "CITY COUNCIL <br />APRIL 14, 1941 <br />H:00 P. M. <br />The following were present on roll call: Councilmen L. C. Christensen, E. A. <br />Fletcher, F. D. Granger,' G. W. McNulty, Mayor H, F. Anderson, and City Clerk <br />C. W. Eltringham. Absent, Councilmen H. W. Edmonds and W. M. Werder. <br />There was ordered filed the affidavit of C. L. Dimmitt for posting notices to <br />destroy weeds; following which, on motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded <br />by Councilman McNulty, there was adopted by unanimous vote of the Council- <br />men present a resolution directing the Superintendent of Streets to abate <br />the nuisance (weeds) existing as specified in Resolution of Intention No. <br />1941-1. <br />Councilman Werder came into the meeting. <br />Mr. Ole Oleson addressed the Council in connection with the contemplated Fourth <br />of July celebration and explained that the Recreation Finance Committee pro- <br />posed to hold a rodeo on this occasion. He stated the committee was confi- <br />dent the rodeo would be a financial success, however, it did not. have suffi- <br />cient funds to cover preliminary expenses and asked that the Council agree <br />to underwrite the cost of the celebration. He also asked that the amount <br />.to be spent for fireworks be increased from $300 to $500. Mr. Ridgeway, who <br />is to conduct the rodeo, also spoke and explained the type of entertainment <br />contemplated. After discussion, and on motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded <br />by Councilman Werder, it was agreed that the City would undervrrite the cost <br />of the Fourth of July celebration and rodeo to the.extent of $1800 including <br />the cost of erecting the required dance paviliion. <br />Adjournment. <br />CWE:MM <br />C.
