300 <br />0 <br />t <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />APRIL 21, 1941 <br />8:00 P. M. <br />Upon roll call the following were present: Councilmen L. C. Christensen, <br />E. A.,Fletcher, F. D. Granger, G. W. McNulty, W. M. Werder, Mayor <br />H. F.'Anderson, and City Clerk C. W. Eltringham; absent, Councilman <br />H. W. Edmonds. <br />On motion of Councilman Werder, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, the <br />minutes of the regular meeting of April 7, 1941, and the adjourned <br />regular meeting of April 14, 1941, were approved. <br />Norman Se Menifee, representing Mr. R. F. Martin, owner and operator of <br />the Redwood City Bus Line, presented an application for a franchise <br />to operate a bus line in the City of Redwood City. The terms and <br />conditions set forth in the application were discussed by the City <br />Attorney, Mr. Menifee, and members of the Council. On motion of <br />Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Christensen, the City <br />Attorney was directed to prepare, in collaboration with Mr. Menifee, <br />a franchise for the bus company along the lines set forth in the <br />application with modifications to conform with matters discussed at <br />this meeting and to submit same to the Council before publication, <br />John M. Robb, in a letter addressed to the Council, stated that he had pur- <br />chased from the City of Redwood City Lots 3, 41 5, and a portion of 61 <br />Block 7, Mezesville, and a survey of this property indicated that cer- <br />tain buildings and fences belonging to adjoining property owners en - <br />croached upon his property. He stated that written requests had been <br />made to the adjoining property owners to remove the structures from his <br />property but without result, and asked that the Council take steps to <br />provide for possession of the property in accordance with the terms of <br />his purchase agreement. After discussion and on motion of Councilman <br />Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Werder, it was agreed that the City <br />lend its facilities in this matter, and if the survey made by the City <br />confirms the above statements, that Mr. Robb be given the benefit of <br />the City's legal services to correct this condition. <br />A letter from Dewey J. Brown, 139 Nueva Avenue, relative to the house at <br />135 Nueva Avenue, was read.
