On motion of Coun- <br />cilman Werder, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, the Chief of the Fire <br />Department and the Health Department were instructed to reinspect the <br />i <br />above premises immediately and to report at the next meeting. <br />There was read a letter from Nelle L. Miramontes, City Collector, relative. <br />F to an offer by the San Mateo County Realty Company to purchase Lot 1, <br />i Block 10, Lenolt, for $425, payable 042.50 down, and the balance.to be <br />l <br />paid at the rate of $5 a month, the full purchase price to be paid in <br />eighteen months, The Council, however, on notion of Councilman Granger, <br />seconded by Councilman McNulty, declined to accept this offer, but indi- <br />cated a willingness to sell the above property for the price stated pro- <br />vided the full amount was paid in eighteen equal installments. <br />l <br />Robert Littler, a member of the Board of Review, submitted his resignation <br />effective June 1, 1941, or sooner should the Council be willing to accept, <br />for the reason that he was moving his place of residence from the City <br />,of Redwood City. The Council declined to accept the resignation at this <br />time and directed the City Clerk to inform Mr. Littler of its action, and <br />to bring the matter up at the next meeting. <br />' A communication from Mrs. Frederick L. Baker, 247 Grand Street, relative to <br />Injuries sustained on March 25, 1941, at the City polling place, 222 <br />Lowell Street, was referred to the City Attorney. <br />The request of Charles PTm. Diel, Americanism Chairman of Redwood City Post ' <br />#105, American.Legion, to display in the lobby of the City Hall an <br />honor roll of the men serving their country under the national defense <br />program, was granted on motion of Councilman,Fletcher, seconded by <br />Councilman Christensen. <br />Letters from the Chamber of Commerce and the Fraternal Order of ,Eagles recom- <br />mending that the Southern Pacific Freight depot be moved to a point south <br />I <br />of the passenger depot were read. Councilman Fletcher advised that this <br />was one of the objectives of the:committee studying the parking lot situ- <br />{ <br />ation and this request would be made of the Southern Pacific Company. <br />i <br />On. motion of Councilman Christensen, seconded by Councilman Werder, the Cham- <br />ber of Commerce was authorized to expend the sum of 055 from the City <br />Advertising Fund for one, -half page advertisement in the Annual Progress <br />Number of the California Real Estate Magazine. <br />, <br />
