<br />WxEREAS, not;Lces of the passage of said Resolution of Intelition
<br />No. 1941-2, headed 11NOTICE OF IMPROVEMENT?', were duly and regularly
<br />posted along the line of said contemplated work and improvements and
<br />in front of all the property liable to be assessed therefor, and on
<br />all the streets in the district to be assessed therefor, in time, form,
<br />manner and number as required by law, as appears from the affidavit of
<br />H. L. Winter, Tom Stafford and Fred Peterson, and now on file in the
<br />office of the Clerk of the said city; and
<br />WHEREAS, it appears from the affidavit of -said H. L. Winter, Tom
<br />Stafford and Fred Peterson, hereinbefore referred to herein; -that the
<br />posting.of said notices of improvement as aforesaid was completed on
<br />the 17th day of April, 1941; and
<br />WHEREAS; it appears from the affidavit of Bernice Gardner that said
<br />Resolution of Intention No. 1941-2 was duly and regularly ,published
<br />in the.Redw'ood City Tribune, a daily (except Sunday) newspaper published,
<br />printed and circulated in said City of Redwood City; and
<br />,WHEREAS, in and by said Resolution of Intention No. 1941-2 and the
<br />notices -of the passage thereof posted as aforesaid, said Council'of the
<br />City of Redwood City fixed Monday, the 5th day of May 1941, at the
<br />hour of 5:00 o'clock P.M. of said day at the Council'6hamber of the
<br />Council of the City of Redwood City in the City Hall on Kiddlefield
<br />Road in said city, as the day, hour and place when and where any and
<br />all persons having any objections to the proposed work and improvements
<br />described in said Resolution of Intention No. 1941-2, or to the grades
<br />at,which said work and improvements are to be done and made, or to the
<br />district to be assessed for said work and improvements, could appear
<br />before said Council and show cause why said proposed work and improve-
<br />ments should not be carried out and done in.ad'cordance with said Re-
<br />solution of Intention No. 1941-2, or why said work and improvements
<br />should not be carried out and done at the grades as shown on the plans,
<br />profiles gnd detailed drawings referred'to•in said Resolution of In-
<br />tention No. 19.41-2 and now on file in the office of the -Clerk of the
<br />City of Redwood City; and
<br />WHEREAS, at the day, hour and place aforesaid., when and where any
<br />and all persons having any objections to said work and improvements
<br />described in said Resolution of'Intention No. 1941=2, or having any
<br />objections to the proposed grades at which said work and improvements
<br />are to be done and made,'or having any objections to the proposed dis-
<br />trict to be assessed for said work and improvements, could appear be-
<br />fore the Council of the City of Redwood City and show cause why said
<br />work and improvements should not be carried out and done in accordance
<br />with Resolution of Intention No. 1941-2, or why said proposed work and
<br />improvements should not be carried out and done at the proposed grades
<br />as shown on the plans, profiles and•detailed drawings referred to in
<br />said Resolution of Intention No. 1941-2 and now on file in the office
<br />of the Clerk of said City of Redwood City, or why' -said work and im-
<br />provements should not be assessed against the district described in
<br />said Resolution,of Intention No. 1941-2 by map referred to therein,
<br />which map was approved by.the Council of the City of Redwood City on
<br />7th day of April, 1941, no persons appeared and no objections of any.
<br />kind were made to said work and improvements described in said Reso-
<br />lution of Intention No. 1941-2 or to the extent of the district to be
<br />assessed therefor, or to the grades at which it is proposed to do said
<br />'wor$ and make said improvements; and
<br />WHEREAS, said Council having acquired jurisdiction to.order said
<br />work and improvements:
<br />THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the public interest and convenience
<br />require the work and improvements herein described, and the Council
<br />of the City of Redwood City hereby orders the following work to be
<br />done and improvements to be made in`said City of Redwood City, to -wit:
<br />That the northwesterly and southeasterly sides of -Roosevelt -,Avenue
<br />from the southwesterly curb line of El Camino Real to the center line
<br />of Dickey Street produced .southeasterly across said Roosevelt Avenue
<br />be improved by having constructed thereon and therein cement concrete
<br />sidewalks four '(4) inches thick and five (5) feet wide, said sidewalks
<br />to be laid upon a base or cushion of sand two (2) inches in thickness
