z <br />`t <br />i <br />On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Werder, the City <br />Manager was instructed to include as business property in the tentative <br />re -zoning map, -the section along Woodside Road near Linden, owned by <br />H. A. Davies. <br />In connection with the committee report on parking°lots, a letter from the <br />Redwood City Kiwanis Club suggesting the removal of the Southern Pa- <br />cific Freight depot to a location'on the southeasterly side .of Broad- <br />way beyond the passenger depot was read. Councilman Fletcher reported <br />progress with'the parking lot situation. <br />At the request of the Real Estate Committee, the matter of F. H. A. appraisals <br />in Redwood City was held over until the next meeting. <br />After hearing the report of Councilman Granger on the Union Cemetery matter, <br />the City Attorney, on motion of Councilman Granger, seconded ;by Council- <br />man Fletcher, was instructed to -present at the next meeting an ordinance <br />placing burials in the cemetery under the supervision of the Health De- <br />partment, and preventing resale or transfer of plots as provided in <br />the original deeds. <br />Councilman Werder, seconded by Councilman McNulty, proposed the adopt -ion <br />of the following resolution: <br />"RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood City, County of <br />''. San Mateo, State of California, that said -City ho longer desires to be <br />a part of the County Free Library System and desires to cease to Parti- <br />cipate in the benefits thereof, and requests the Board of Supervisors <br />of the County of San Mateo, State of California, that no taxes be <br />levied against the property in said City of .Redwood City for County <br />Free Library purposes. <br />AND BE'IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a notice be published for two <br />successive weeks in the Redwood City Tribune, a daily newspaper of gen- <br />eral circulation in the City of Redwood City notifying all persons of <br />the contemplated action of said City, said contemplated action will be <br />finally adopted providing that said City will no•'longer be a part of <br />the County Free Library System on June 16, 1941, at the hour of 8:00 <br />o'clock P.M. at the meeting place of the City Council. of said City in, <br />the City Hall on Middlefield Road, which is the time and glace set for <br />the hearing thereon." - <br />Unanimously carried on roll call vote. <br />There was read a report of the Building jnspector on the house'at 1926 Jeffer- <br />son Avenue owned by'H, H. Filers. The report indicated that Mr. Filers <br />was'willing to correct any infractions of city ordinances, and on motion <br />of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman -Granger, the City Manager, <br />4 City Attorney, and Building Inspector.were instructed to take whatever <br />action necessary to have this building conform with the city's building <br />and setback regulations.' <br />I .4 <br />t <br />r <br />s <br />f - <br />'13 <br />
