Carried by <br />( unanimous vote`of the councilmen present. <br />Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Granger,.proposed the adoption <br />of Ordinance No. 157, an ordinance creating a local defense council <br />and prescribing its duties and responsibilities.. Unanimously adopted <br />on roll call vote of the councilmen present. . <br />On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Christensen, Mr. <br />Leo Puller was appointed a member of the Board of Review, for"the un- <br />expired te.rm of Robert Littler. <br />An ordinance declaring it unlawful to •remove any notices posted'under the <br />ordinances of the City or laws of the State by the Health Officer, <br />without permission, was introduced on motion of Councilman Iferder, <br />seconded by Councilman Fletcher. <br />Councilman Christensen, seconded by Councilman Gxanger,offered for intro- <br />duction an ordinance regulating'moving picture shows, theatres, lec- <br />tures, or other entertainment where the public is invited, either at a <br />charge or without charge and establishing a board to examine such pic- <br />tures or other entertainment. Motion carried. <br />On motion of Councilman Pletcher, seconded by Councilman Christensen, the <br />appointment of a member to the Board of Library Trustees for the term <br />of Mrs. Kalenborn which expires June 30, 1941, was ordered.held over <br />until the next meeting. <br />A letter from the League of Califdrnia Cities, relative to survey of muhici- <br />palities being made with'the co-operation of.the National Youth Admin- <br />stration was ordered filed. <br />� b: <br />
