f <br />} <br />i <br />0 <br />displayed on appropriate occasions. -Appreciation for the gift was ex- <br />pressed by Mayor Anderson and other members of the Council. <br />Request of the Redwood City Chamber of Commerce for extension ofan agreement <br />dated August 10, 1936, providing for an annual appropriation in the amount <br />of $1300.00 to be expended for publicity approved by the Chamber of dom- <br />t�C merce, to June 30, 1942, was granted on motion of Councilman Christensen, <br />seconded by Councilman Werder. <br />On motion of Councilman Werder, seconded by Councilman Christensen, the Chamber <br />of Commerce was authorized to expend the sum of $50.00 for a booth at, the <br />San Mateo County Fiesta•to be jointly occupied with other cities of the <br />e <br />County. <br />A letter from the City Manager relative to a request of the San Mateo County <br />Fiesta Association that the streets in Redwood City be decorated during <br />the week of the fiesta was ordered filed. <br />In connection with the matter of a dance permit requested by C. E. Bunyard, <br />769 Woodside Road, there was read a letter from the State Board of Equali- <br />zation relative to violations'of the Alcohol Beverage Control Act. Mr. <br />Bunyard again pleaded in his case and after considerable discussion, Fire <br />Chief Ryan was, on motion of Councilman Granger, seconded by Councilman <br />�.,g. McNulty, directed to inspect the premises for fire hazards and report at <br />the next meeting. <br />Councilman Christensen, seconded by Councilman Granger, proposed the adoption <br />462 <br />K` of Ordinance No. -4".. "An ordinance pertaining to the public health of the <br />City of Redwood City". Carried by unanimous vote of the councilmen present. <br />Ordinance No. 459, "An ordinance regulating moving picture shows, theatres, lec- <br />tures, etc.," was unanimously adopted on motion of Councilman Werder, seconded <br />i by Councilman Christensen. <br />On motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Christensen, Mrs. .Emma <br />Kalenborn was appointed a member of the Board of Trusteesof the Redwood <br />City Public Library, for a term of three years commencing July 1, 1941. <br />Ordinance No: 460, "A zoning ordinance", was unanimously adopted on motion of <br />d�ouncilman Christensen, seconded by Councilman Werder. <br />The following resolution was unanimously adopted on motion of Councilman Wer - <br />der, seconded by Councilman Christensen. <br />"RESOLUTION OF THE.CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />a• APPROVING MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT FOR EXPENDITURE OF 1/4 CENT GAS TAX <br />�J <br />aY'4 ALLOCATED FOR STATE HIGHWAYS <br />WHEREAS, the State of California, through.its Department of <br />0 <br />N <br />U <br />
