W. Eltringham ity Clerk- <br />CWE:MM <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />SEPTEMBER 15, 1941 <br />8:00 P. M. <br />Upon roll call the following were present: Councilmep L. C. Christensen, <br />E. A. Fletcher, F. D. Granger, W. M. Werder, Mayor H. F. Anderson, and <br />City Clerk C. W. Eltringham; absent, Councilmen H. W. Edmonds and <br />G. W. McNulty. Also present were City Manager C. L. Dimmitt, City <br />j Attorney Albert Mansfield, City Collector Nelle L. Miramontes, Chief of <br />Police C. L. Collins, Chief of Fire Department M. E. Ryan, Building In- <br />spector L. M. Duncan, and Superintendent of Parks Roger Walsh. <br />The minutes of the regular meeting of September 2,, 1941, were approved on <br />motion of Councilman Werder, seconded by Councilman Christensen. <br />There was read and ordered filed a.letter from Fred Grumm, Engineer, Surveys <br />and Plans, State Department of Public Works, relative to the Center <br />division strip on E1 Camino Real. <br />On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Christensen, the <br />recommendation of the Chamber of Commerce to appropriate the sum of $25.00 <br />toward the expense of transporting the Redwood City Band to a State Meeting <br />at the Soldiers' Home, Yountsville, California, on September 21, 1941;, was <br />approved. <br />The City Manager in a letter addressed to the Council advised that two bids <br />had been received for improvement'of Brewster Avenue and Hudson Street <br />intersections and Harbor Boulevard, Gas Tax Projects No. 15, 16 and 17, <br />as follows: <br />W. 0. Tyson Oio,166.50 <br />Peter Sorensen 8,953.00 <br />Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Werder, then offered a.mo- <br />tion awarding the contract to the low bidder, Peter Sorensen. <br />
