Eltringham ity Clerk- CWE:MM MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL SEPTEMBER 15, 1941 8:00 P. M. Upon roll call the following were present: Councilmep L. C. Christensen, E. A. Fletcher, F. D. Granger, W. M. Werder, Mayor H. F. Anderson, and City Clerk C. W. Eltringham; absent, Councilmen H. W. Edmonds and G. W. McNulty. Also present were City Manager C. L. Dimmitt, City j Attorney Albert Mansfield, City Collector Nelle L. Miramontes, Chief of Police C. L. Collins, Chief of Fire Department M. E. Ryan, Building In- spector L. M. Duncan, and Superintendent of Parks Roger Walsh. The minutes of the regular meeting of September 2,, 1941, were approved on motion of Councilman Werder, seconded by Councilman Christensen. There was read and ordered filed a.letter from Fred Grumm, Engineer, Surveys and Plans, State Department of Public Works, relative to the Center division strip on E1 Camino Real. On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Christensen, the recommendation of the Chamber of Commerce to appropriate the sum of $25.00 toward the expense of transporting the Redwood City Band to a State Meeting at the Soldiers' Home, Yountsville, California, on September 21, 1941;, was approved. The City Manager in a letter addressed to the Council advised that two bids had been received for improvement'of Brewster Avenue and Hudson Street intersections and Harbor Boulevard, Gas Tax Projects No. 15, 16 and 17, as follows: W. 0. Tyson Oio,166.50 Peter Sorensen 8,953.00 Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Werder, then offered a.mo- tion awarding the contract to the low bidder, Peter Sorensen.
