0 <br />(I <br />A letter from F. J. McCarron, Adjutant, Capt. H. J. Reilly Camp No. 14, United <br />Spanish War Veterans, inviting members of the City Council to attend in - <br />stallation ceremonies to be held on October 14, 1941, was read. <br />There was also read a letter from Katherine Norris Adkins, Secretary, Capt. <br />H. J.' Reilly Auxiliary No. 70, expressing appreciation of the new ceiling <br />installed in the Veterans' Hall and inviting members of the Council to <br />attend the installation of Officers on October 14, 1941. <br />Maury Schwarz was, on motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Counciiman <br />Christensen, granted permission to sponsor amateur boxingL in Redwood, City, <br />,as recommended by the Parke and Recreation Commission. Details relative <br />to conduct of the boxing matches was left in the hands of the City Manager <br />and Chief of Police. <br />City Manager Dimmitt read a letter from Jno. H. Skeggs, District Engineer, Division <br />of Highways, confirming the understanding regarding openings to be.left in <br />the center division strip in E1 Camino Real highway through Redwood City, <br />between Broadway and Hemlock Avenue inclusive, at the following intersectionst <br />Broadway Willow Street <br />James Avenue Lincoln Avenue <br />Jefferson Avenue Harrison Avenue <br />Vera Avenue Madison Avenue <br />Maple Street Oak Street <br />Roosevelt Avenue •Laurel Street <br />Chestnut Street Hemlock Avenue <br />Councilman Fletcher then offered a motion, which was seconded by Councilman <br />Werder, ratifying the above. <br />On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Christensen, the City <br />Manager was authorized to enter into a contract with Lawrence Scudder & Co., <br />Certified Public Accountants, to audit the books and accounts of the City of <br />Redwood City periodically for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1942; it,being <br />understood that the maximum fee covering all departments shall not exceed <br />0600.00. <br />The City Manager, in a letter addressed to the Council, submitted for approval <br />the position classification titled "Port Warehouseman" and establishing <br />minimum salary of $1,620.00 per annum, and.maximum salary of $1,920.00 per <br />annum. Approval granted on motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by <br />Councilman Werder. <br />On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman McNulty, the following <br />amendments to the rules for personnel administration were adopted: <br />0 <br />359. <br />i <br />>I <br />
