Request <br />for a separate contract on each of the above parcels of property, how- <br />ever, -was not approved, it being felt that one contract with provision <br />for release of lots when the full purchase price thereof had been paid <br />,would better protect the City's interest. <br />In connection with the application for permit to establish a dog training <br />school in the Friend Industrial Tract, L. H. Billings submitted in <br />behalf of his client, C. H. Brackett, a sketch showing the location <br />of the proposed kennels. Mr. Brackett was also present and explained <br />the nature of the business,he proposed t,o establish. After consider- <br />able discussion, Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman McNulty, <br />offered for introduction an ordinance amending Ordinance No. 307 to <br />permit the Council to give special permits for keeping more than two <br />dogs in one location in the industrial area.. <br />This being the time set for confirming the assessment roll prepared in con- <br />nection with Resolution of Intention No. 1941-2 (Roosevelt Avenue side- <br />walks).. and the -being no protests, 'either oral or written, affidavits <br />of posting, publishing, and mailing notices were ordered. filed'. The <br />following resolution was then unanimously adopted on motion of Council- <br />man Werder, seconded by Councilman Christensen: <br />11RESOLUTION CONFIRMING STREET ASSESSMENT NO. 1941-2 <br />WHEREAS, the assessment for street work done under that certain <br />contract dated the 17th day of June, 1941, between PETER SORENSEN# first <br />party, and C. L. DIMMITT, as Superintendent of Streets of the City of <br />Redwood City, second party, for the doing, of all, street work mentioned <br />and described in Resolution of Intention No. 1941-2, passed and adopted <br />by•the Council of the City of Redwood City on the 7th day of April, 1941, <br />and now on file in the office of the Clerk of said City, to which Reso- <br />lution of Intention reference is hereby made for a description,of said <br />work, was filed in the office of the Clerk of the City of Redwood City <br />on the 19th day of September, 1941; and <br />f- 1111EREAS, said City Clerk did thereupon fix Monday, the 6th day <br />of October, 1941, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M. of said day; at the <br />meeting place of the Council of the City of Redwood City in the Council <br />Chamber in the City Hall on Middlefield Road in the City of Redwood City <br />as the time and place for a hearing on said assessment, as required by <br />law, and as the time and place for making written objections thereto, <br />as provided for in Ordinance No'. 333 of the City of Redwood City; and <br />WHEREAS, Notice of Filing of.said Assessment and of Time Fixed I <br />for Hearing Thereon was duly given by posting, publishing and mailing <br />as required by law, as appears from the affidavits of R. J. Clarke, } <br />Beth Hawkins and Bernice Gardner now on file in the office of the <br />Clerk of said City of Redwood City;'and <br />
