s, <br />7 <br />L <br />E <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />MAY 159 1939 <br />8:00 P.M. <br />Upon roll call the following were present: Councilmen H. F. Anderson, E. A. Fletcher, Wm. Hohn, <br />R. N. Jones, P. A. McCarthy, G. W. McNulty, Mayor L. C. Christensen, and City Clerk B. E. <br />Myers. <br />The minutes of the meeting of May 1 were approved on motion of Councilman Jones, seconded by <br />Councilman McNulty. <br />On motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, there was adopted resolu- <br />tion accepting deed from William F. Leib for Lot 14 in Block 6 of West Redwood. <br />On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Anderson, the Clerk was instructed <br />to make written protest to the State Board of Equalization against granting an Off Sale <br />Distilled Spirits license to Don M. Flaherty, dba C & L at 2399 Broadway, and that a <br />hearing on the protest was desired. <br />Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman,Anderson, moved that the Council accept offer of <br />Herman and Rose Ma.rzlin to buy.for $250 Lot 5, Block 3, West Redwood, $50 down, $10 a <br />month, total amount to be paid within one year with interest at 6% on unpaid balance. <br />Carried. <br />Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, proposed that the Council accept offer <br />of George W. and Bernice A. Gundred to buy for $350 Lot 16, Block 8, New High School <br />Acres, with $35 down payment, unpaid balance $10 per month, all due and payable by <br />May 1, 1940, interest at 6% on unpaid balance. <br />The Tax Collector submitted the following letter: <br />lion February 1, 1939, Mayor Christensen and City Manager Dimmitt <br />recommended that the sum of $276.94 be accepted in settlement of <br />the charges on the following property instead of $292.26 actually <br />due if the total amount was paid in full. <br />The property referred to is Arbitrary Block 238, Lot 6, or legal <br />description, Lots 46-47, Block 3, Resub of Lots 49-50 Reese, also <br />S. 25 feet of Lot 6, Redwood Oaks, which was sold for delinquent <br />taxes on June 30, 1932 and assessed to F. A.
