6MR <br />"On April 29, 1939, Mayor Christensen and City Manager Dimmitt <br />recommended that the sum of $118.66 be accepted in settlement <br />of the charges on the following property instead of $152.18 <br />actually due if the total amount was paid in full. <br />The property referred to is Arbitrary Block 188, Lots 19 to <br />19C inclusive or legal description, Lots 7 to 10 inclusive, <br />Block D, Oakville Homestead, Resub of Lots 3-5 W. W. & M. <br />Subdivision which was sold for delinquent taxes July 15, 1930,. <br />property assessed to V & A Gerwin. <br />Delinquent Taxes $64.00 <br />Delinquent Weed 21.14 <br />Tax penalty -cost 67.o4 $152.18 <br />A payment has been made in the amount of $118.66. Please con- <br />firm the above authorization." <br />Authorization given on motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman <br />McCarthy. <br />The Tax Collector submitted the following letter: <br />110n May 8, 1939, Mayor Christensen and City Manager Dimmitt <br />recommended that the sun of $470.54 be accepted in settle- <br />ment of the charges on the following property instead of <br />$493.66 actually due if the total amount was paid in fall. <br />The property referred to is Arbitrary Block 69, Lot 11, or <br />legal description, Lot 4, Block 6, Oak Knoll Manor assessed <br />to M. J. Please con- <br />firm the above authorization." <br />Authorization given on motion of Councilman Jones, seconded by Councilman Fletcher. <br />In a letter to the Council, the Redwood City Tribune asked authorization for a double <br />page spread, to cost $100, in a special edition celebrating the dedication of the <br />public buildings in Redwood City. The Chamber of Commerce had approved the Project. <br />On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Anderson, the expenditure <br />was authorized. <br />In connection with the request of Stuart W. Copps, Secretary of the Highlands District <br />Improvement Club, it was decided, on motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by <br />Councilman Fletcher, that the City would furnish water for trees planted along <br />Jefferson Avenue weet of Redwood City with the understanding that the County <br />Engineer, with his crew, would take care of the watering of the trees. <br />The San Francisco Peninsula, Inc. requested that the City Council appoint one of its <br />number to represent the Council at the meetings of the Board of Directors of San <br />Francisco Peninsula, Inc., and in line with the request, Mayor Christensen asked <br />Councilman McCarthy to attend such meetings which he consented to do. <br />D <br />
