WE <br />Bids filed with the Clerk by 8:00 P.M. were then opened as <br />follows: <br />Peter Sorensen $4,300.00 , <br />G. 0. Meserve 3,981.23 <br />Councilman_ Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Christensen, then <br />offered the following resolution which was carried by unanimous <br />vote of the councilmen present: <br />"RESOLUTION OF AWARD NO. 1941-3 <br />WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Redwood City, did in open <br />sessioh on the let day of December, 19141, publicly open, examine and <br />declare all sealed proposals or bids for doing the following work and <br />making the following improvements in said City -of Redwood City, to -wit: <br />That the northeasterly side of E1 Camino Real between Manzanita <br />Street and Charter Street and also the southwesterly side of sAid E1 <br />Camino Real between Lincoln Avenue and Center Street be improved by <br />being graded and havingg constructed thereon and therein cement con- <br />crete sidewalks four (4) inches thick and five (5) feet wide, said <br />sidewalks to be laid upon a base or cushion of sand at least two (2) <br />inches in thickness and of the full width of said sidewalks; and <br />that cement concrete combined curbs and gutters be constructed within <br />the limits above described on both sides of El Camino Real. <br />There is hereby excepted from the hereinbefore described work <br />and improvements any parts thereof that is already done to the line <br />and grade as shown on the plans, profiles and specifications men- <br />tioned herein. <br />The width of the sidewalks hereinbefore mentioned are to be <br />and are as shown on the plans, profiles and detailed drawings here- <br />inafter referred to herein. <br />All the work provided for herein shall be done and made to the <br />grades, as shown on the plans, profiles and detailed drawings, which <br />grades are hereby adopted as the official grades for said work and <br />Improvements, and reference is hereby made to the plans, profiles <br />and detailed drawings for a description of the grades at which said <br />work is to be done and said improvements made and the same are made <br />a part hereof. <br />All the hereinbefore and hereinabove mentioned and described <br />work and improvements are to be done and made at the locations and <br />positions and of the sizes and dimensions and of the materials as <br />shown and described on the plans, profiles, detailed drawings and <br />specifications adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City <br />on the 20th day of October, 19k1,. and now on file in the office of . <br />the Clerk of said City, to which plans, profiles, detailed drawings <br />and specifications reference is hereby made for a complete descrip- <br />tion and location of said work and improvements and for further <br />particulars,.and the same are made a part hereof. <br />And the Council of the City of Redwood City does hereby deter- <br />mine and declare that the foregoing described work and improvements <br />are of more than local or ordinary public benefit and will affect <br />and benefit the lands and district hereinafter mentioned, which said <br />district is hereby declared to be the district benefited by skid work and <br />improvements; that therefore the entire costs and expenses of said <br />work and improvements shall be and are hereby made chargeable against <br />and shall be assessed upon said lands and district, which district is <br />within the limits of the City of Redwood City, County of San Mateo, <br />State of California, and said district is described and shown on a <br />certain reap or plat entitled 'Map Sho%ring Assessment District Under <br />Resolution of Intention No. 1941-31' which map or plat was adopted <br />and approved by the Council of the City of Redwood City on the 20th <br />
