WE Bids filed with the Clerk by 8:00 P.M. were then opened as follows: Peter Sorensen $4,300.00 , G. 0. Meserve 3,981.23 Councilman_ Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Christensen, then offered the following resolution which was carried by unanimous vote of the councilmen present: "RESOLUTION OF AWARD NO. 1941-3 WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Redwood City, did in open sessioh on the let day of December, 19141, publicly open, examine and declare all sealed proposals or bids for doing the following work and making the following improvements in said City -of Redwood City, to -wit: That the northeasterly side of E1 Camino Real between Manzanita Street and Charter Street and also the southwesterly side of sAid E1 Camino Real between Lincoln Avenue and Center Street be improved by being graded and havingg constructed thereon and therein cement con- crete sidewalks four (4) inches thick and five (5) feet wide, said sidewalks to be laid upon a base or cushion of sand at least two (2) inches in thickness and of the full width of said sidewalks; and that cement concrete combined curbs and gutters be constructed within the limits above described on both sides of El Camino Real. There is hereby excepted from the hereinbefore described work and improvements any parts thereof that is already done to the line and grade as shown on the plans, profiles and specifications men- tioned herein. The width of the sidewalks hereinbefore mentioned are to be and are as shown on the plans, profiles and detailed drawings here- inafter referred to herein. All the work provided for herein shall be done and made to the grades, as shown on the plans, profiles and detailed drawings, which grades are hereby adopted as the official grades for said work and Improvements, and reference is hereby made to the plans, profiles and detailed drawings for a description of the grades at which said work is to be done and said improvements made and the same are made a part hereof. All the hereinbefore and hereinabove mentioned and described work and improvements are to be done and made at the locations and positions and of the sizes and dimensions and of the materials as shown and described on the plans, profiles, detailed drawings and specifications adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City on the 20th day of October, 19k1,. and now on file in the office of . the Clerk of said City, to which plans, profiles, detailed drawings and specifications reference is hereby made for a complete descrip- tion and location of said work and improvements and for further particulars,.and the same are made a part hereof. And the Council of the City of Redwood City does hereby deter- mine and declare that the foregoing described work and improvements are of more than local or ordinary public benefit and will affect and benefit the lands and district hereinafter mentioned, which said district is hereby declared to be the district benefited by skid work and improvements; that therefore the entire costs and expenses of said work and improvements shall be and are hereby made chargeable against and shall be assessed upon said lands and district, which district is within the limits of the City of Redwood City, County of San Mateo, State of California, and said district is described and shown on a certain reap or plat entitled 'Map Sho%ring Assessment District Under Resolution of Intention No. 1941-31' which map or plat was adopted and approved by the Council of the City of Redwood City on the 20th
