It e • JL: On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Christensen, McCloud Motor Co. was granted permission to operate a used car lot on the west side of Main. Street north .of Broadway.. On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Granger, Tom 'V''' Flores, 505 Beresford Avenue, Redwood City, was granted a permit to buy and sell junk within the corporate limits of the City of Reawood City, subject, however, to satisfaction of the City Manager that Mr. Flores is a disabled war veteran. A resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute an'agreement with the State of California for expenditure of 1/4 cent gas tax funds was unani- mously adopted on motion of Councilman Christensen, seconded by Council- man McNulty. The City Manager wasidirected to submit a comprehensive repbrt on recommenda- tions of the Clean -Up Campaign Committee at the next meeting. The City Manager was also directed to submit a report at the next meeting on fingerprinting and oaths of office for city employees. The following resolution.was''unanimously adopted on -motion of Co'unellman Fletcher, 'seconded by Councilman McNulty: "RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood City that a permit is hereby granted to the Southern Pacific'Railroad Company for a single spur track running across Chestnut Street to the National Motor Bearing Company's plant, said spur described as follows BEGINNING at a point in the existing Southern Pacific Railroad Company's spur track on Chestnut Street near Bay Road and running thence on the arc of a curve to the right to a point in the southeast line of said. Chestnut Street. I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City at a regular meeting thereof held on the 19th day of January, 1942, by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen L. Request of Pacific Greyhound Bus Co. for two taxi cab stands and 20 minute parking signs in front of the depot on East Brewster Avenue was approved on motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilmen Christensen. There was read a letter from Owen Wright, Treasurer, National Motor Bearing Co. Inc., suggesting that the name National Avenue be assigned to the street to be 11
