It <br />e <br />• <br />JL: <br />On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Christensen, <br />McCloud Motor Co. was granted permission to operate a used car lot on <br />the west side of Main. Street north .of Broadway.. <br />On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Granger, Tom 'V''' <br />Flores, 505 Beresford Avenue, Redwood City, was granted a permit to <br />buy and sell junk within the corporate limits of the City of Reawood <br />City, subject, however, to satisfaction of the City Manager that Mr. <br />Flores is a disabled war veteran. <br />A resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute an'agreement with the <br />State of California for expenditure of 1/4 cent gas tax funds was unani- <br />mously adopted on motion of Councilman Christensen, seconded by Council- <br />man McNulty. <br />The City Manager wasidirected to submit a comprehensive repbrt on recommenda- <br />tions of the Clean -Up Campaign Committee at the next meeting. <br />The City Manager was also directed to submit a report at the next meeting <br />on fingerprinting and oaths of office for city employees. <br />The following resolution.was''unanimously adopted on -motion of Co'unellman <br />Fletcher, 'seconded by Councilman McNulty: <br />"RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood City that a permit <br />is hereby granted to the Southern Pacific'Railroad Company for a single <br />spur track running across Chestnut Street to the National Motor Bearing <br />Company's plant, said spur described as follows <br />BEGINNING at a point in the existing Southern Pacific Railroad <br />Company's spur track on Chestnut Street near Bay Road and running thence <br />on the arc of a curve to the right to a point in the southeast line of <br />said. Chestnut Street. <br />I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly passed and <br />adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City at a regular meeting <br />thereof held on the 19th day of January, 1942, by the following vote: <br />Ayes: Councilmen L. C. Christensen, E. A. Fletcher, F. D. Granger, <br />G. W. McNulty, Mayor H. F. Anderson. <br />Noes: Councilmen None <br />Absent: Councilmen H. W. Edmonds and W. M. Werder. <br />C. W. ELTRINGHAM <br />Clerk of the City of Redwood City and <br />ex -officio Clerk of the Council of <br />said city" <br />The matter of a gate for pedestrians approaching the Southern Pacific Depot <br />from Winslow Street, and the iron stakes in the sidewalk area near the <br />railroad tracks on Broadwy were referred to the City Manager. <br />Request of Pacific Greyhound Bus Co. for two taxi cab stands and 20 minute <br />parking signs in front of the depot on East Brewster Avenue was approved <br />on motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilmen Christensen. <br />There was read a letter from Owen Wright, Treasurer, National Motor Bearing Co.
