M. <br />Upon roll call the following were present: Councilmen L. C. Christensen, <br />E. A. Fletcher, F. D. Granger, G. W. McNulty, W. M. Werder, Mayor <br />H. F. Anderson, and City Clerk C. W. Eltringham; absent, Councilman <br />H. W. Edmonds. Also present were City Manager C. L. Dimmitt, City <br />Attorney Albert Mansfield, City Collector Nelle L. Miramontes, Chief <br />of.Police G. L. Collins, Chief of Fire Department 14. E. Ryan, Build= <br />Inspector L. M. Duncan, Superintendent of Warks Roger Walsh, and <br />Emil Stein representing the Health Department. <br />The minutes of the regular meeting of January 19, 1942, were approved <br />on motion of Councilman Granger, seconded by Councilman McNulty. <br />Report of the Committee appointed at the last meeting to investigate <br />the matter of taxi cab fares was read and ordered filed. <br />Woman's Society of Christian Service if the First Methodist Church was <br />granted permission to conduct a rummage sale at 998 Main Street <br />on February 6 and 7, on motion of Councilman Werder, seconded by <br />Councilman Fletcher. <br />There was read a letter from Darrow Moenoher, Lieutenant Colonel,, Northern <br />California Sector and VII Army Corps, San Jose, California, relative <br />to passing an ordinance prohibiting the, drinking of any intoxicating <br />liquor upon any street, lane, alley, public park or public places in <br />the City of Redwood City.
