Ward, President, asking that the Council reconsider its <br />previous action on request of the California Real Estate Magazine .for <br />an advertisement in the annual progress number. After discussion, and <br />on motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Christensen, <br />it was decided to place the advertisement at a cost of $55.00. <br />Resolution appointing M. E. Ryan a local property officer, pursuant to <br />Regulations No. 1 of the Office of Civilian Defense, was unanimously <br />adopted on motion of Councilman Granger, seconded by Councilman <br />Christensen. <br />In connection with the proposed stationing of a volunteer at fire alarm <br />boxes during a blackout, there was read a letter from the Board of <br />Fire Underwriters of the Pacific approving the plan and on motion of <br />Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Granger, the Fire Chief <br />was instructed to continue to respond to all calls from fire alarm <br />boxes and to arrange for stationing of a volunteer special duty fire- <br />man at all alarm boxes during a blackout. <br />Request of David Holder for diversion of water running through Lot 1, Block <br />11, Oak Knoll Manor was approved on motion of Councilman Werder, sec- <br />oned by Councilman Granger, provided that Mr. Holder furnish satis- <br />factory evidence of his intention and ability to construct 4 homes on <br />the property. Councilmen McNulty and Fletcher voted No. <br />Fire Chief Ryan reported a street light would be installed on Woodsworth <br />between Edgewood and Whipple as soon as funds were available and was <br />directed to include this item in the Electric Department budget for <br />next year. <br />In connection with the condition of street intersection of Roosevelt and <br />Redwood Avenues at Hudson Street, City Manager reported that suffi- <br />cient money was being withheld for surfacing in event the contractor <br />failed to do so. <br />On motion of Councilman Christensen, seconded -by Councilman McNulty, the <br />City Manager was authorized to execute an agreement with the County of <br />San Mateo for connection with and use of the North Fair Oaks sanitary <br />sewer. <br />4 <br />4 <br />
