W. Eltringha , City Clerk <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />APRIL 202 1942 <br />8:00 P.M. <br />Upon roll call the following were present: Councilmen L. C. Christensen <br />E. A. Fletcher, F. D. Granger, G. W. McNulty, W. M. Werder, Mayor <br />H. F. Anderson and City Clerk.C. W. Eltringham. Also present were <br />City Manager C. L. Dimmitt, City Collector Nelle L. Miramontes, <br />Police Lieutenant S. D. Wood, Fire Chief M. E. Ryan, Building <br />Inspector L. M. Duncan and Superintendent of Parks, Roger Walsh. <br />The minutes of the regular meeting of April 6, 1942 were approved on <br />motion of Councilman Werder seconded by Councilman McNulty. <br />There was read a resolution adopted by the City of Belmont officially <br />informing the City that it was expected to pay one-third of the <br />cost of constructing an -observation post at a site selected in <br />the City of Belmont by the Commanding Officer of the Fourth <br />Interceptor Command to serve the area of Belmont, San Carlos and <br />Redwood City. <br />Dan St. George spoke in connection with the above resolution and <br />asked if Redwood City could furnish volunteers to assist with the <br />operation of the post. <br />Action on the request for payment of one-third of the cost of <br />construction of the observation post was deferred, to be taken <br />up later in the meeting and in the meantime, Mr. St. George was <br />directed to confer with Alfred Morton, Assistant Civilian Defense <br />Co-ordinator, relative to obtaining the services of volunteers. <br />I <br />i <br />
