Eltringha , City Clerk <br />MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING <br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />APRIL 27, 1942 <br />7:30 P.M. <br />Upon roll call the following were present: <br />Councilmen Carl Britschgi, <br />E. A. Fletcher, F. D. Granger, G. W. McNulty, W. M. Werder, Mayor <br />H. F. Anderson and City Clerk C. W. Eltringham; absent, Councilman <br />H. W. Edmonds. City Manager C. L. Dimmitt, was also present. <br />Following roll call and on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by <br />Councilman Werder the Council adjourned to the Committee room <br />adjoining ,the Council Chambers. <br />Affidavit of W. H. Thorpe that he had on the 25th day of April, 1942 <br />served notice calling this special meeting upon all of the City` <br />Councilmen, was ordered filed on motion of Councilman Fletcher, <br />seconded by Councilman McNulty. <br />Mayor Anderson stated that this special meeting was called for the <br />purpose of appointing a City Attorney. Upon motion of Councilman <br />Werder, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, Paul A. McCarthy was <br />appointed City Attorney by unanimous vote of the Councilmen <br />present. Thereupon Paul A. McCarthy took the oath of office as <br />City Attorney for the City of Redwood City. <br />On motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, the <br />oath of office of Paul A. McCarthy as City Attorney was ordered <br />filed. <br />Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Granger offered the fol- <br />lowing resolution, which was adopted by unanimous vote of the <br />Councilmen present: <br />"WHEREAS, the untimely death of ALBERT MANSFIFLD on <br />April 21, 1942, has deprived this city of the valuable services <br />which he rendered for thirty-four years as City Attorney, and <br />44-7 <br />� �e <br />4- <br />�e <br />
