1 <br />i <br />1 <br />Communication from San Mateo County Civilian Defense Council relative <br />to agreement for mutual fire assistance was ordered filed. <br />Dr. N. C. Cummings and Sanford B. Dole were, on motion of Councilman <br />Anderson, seconded by Councilman McNulty, reappointed members <br />of the Board of Trustees, Redwood City Public Library for a <br />three year term expiring June 30, 1945. <br />Communication from the City Manager stating that R. F. Martin, operator <br />of the Redwood City Bus Line, desired to .change from 30 days to 15 <br />days the period during which 14 ride tickets were valid, was held <br />over until the next regular meeting. Martin Levy spoke on this <br />matter and requested that adequate publicity be given the proposed <br />change before approval of same. <br />William Evans, owner of property at 897 Redwood Avenue, appeared in <br />response to notice -to show cause why proceedings should not be <br />started to abate same and requested that action be withheld for <br />a short time as effort was being made to sell the property. <br />Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman Pletcher then of- <br />fered a motion, which carried unanimously, continuing this mat- <br />ter until the July 6th meeting. <br />Recommendation of the Real Estate Committee for sale of Lots 1 and 2 <br />in Block 13, West Redwood, for the sum of $225.00; payable $fi25.00 <br />down and.the remainder payable at the rate of $8.00 or more per <br />month plus interest at the rate of 6% per annum, was approved on <br />motion of Councilman Werder seconded by Councilman Britschgi. <br />Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Eilers addressed the Council relative to the condi- <br />tion',of their residence on Jefferson Avenue between Hudson and <br />Iris Streets and gave assurance that effort would be made to im- <br />prove the appearance of the front of the building. <br />The matter of appointing a member to the Redwood City Planning Com- <br />mission was held over until the next regular meeting and the <br />Clerk was directed to ascertain if Mr. C. M. Doxsee would accept <br />.reappointment. <br />Frank McAuliffe addressed the Council relative to improvements, in <br />the nature of recreation facilities, at the Yacht Harbor. <br />Al Terramere, representing Redwood City Exchange Club,.requested <br />U.S.O. funds for an entertainment the club proposes to hold for <br />Service Men. It was explained to Mr. Terramere the City had no <br />jurisdiction over U.S.O. funds and the request should be made of <br />the local U.S.O. Committes. <br />46> <br />
