V <br />A letter from the San Mateo County General Contractors Association concerning an <br />ordinance which might be proposed by certain plumbers, after being read, was <br />ordered filed. <br />There was ordered filed letter from the Building Inspector, reporting on property at <br />221 Pennsylvania Avenue, at the corner of El Camino Real and Harrison Avenue, <br />and at the corner of Bradford and Middlefield Road., <br />There was read a letter from F. Edmund O'Connell, President of the Redwood City Junior <br />Chamber of Commerce, calling attention to a project of that body; namely, a ferry <br />boat excursion from the Port of Redwood City to Treasure Island and return, May 7. <br />The members of the Council were heartily in accord with the proposal, and the Clerk <br />1 <br />was instructed to write to the Junior Chamber of Commerce accordingly. <br />The Clerk was .instructed to bring up at the next meeting action on the buildings at <br />Bradford and Middlefield Road, and also securing title to the cemetery. <br />The City Collector submitted the following fetter: <br />"On December 20, 1938, the Mayor and City Manager recommended that <br />the sum of $306.31 be accepted in settlement of the charges on the <br />following property instead of $340.35, actually due if the total . <br />amount was paid in full. The property referred to is Arb. Blk. 137, <br />Lot 11 or legal description Lots 25-26, Block 7, Central Park <br />assessed in the name of Ed. F. and A. E. Bailey. <br />Delinquent Tax $ 33.46 <br />Delinquent WeedTax 6.10 <br />Asset <br />Delinquent Assmt. S-5 214.14 <br />Tax. Penalty -Cost 12.05 <br />Bond Penalty 35.97 <br />Tax - 1939-39 5.91 <br />Weed ° ° 2.11 <br />Bond Assmt. %5 29.04 <br />Penalty 1.57 $340.35 <br />On January 7, 1939, a check was received in the amount of $306,31. <br />Will you please confirm the above authorization?" <br />Authorization as requested was given on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by <br />Councilman Jones, <br />The City Collector submitted the following letter: <br />"The Mayor and City Manager recommended that the sum of $525.32 be accepted <br />in settlement of the charges on the following property instead of $677.19 <br />actually due if the total amount was paid in full. The property referred <br />to is Arbitrary Block 1449 Lot 23 or legal lot 22, block 8, New High <br />School Acres, assessed in the name of Wm. Nevegold. <br />Delinquent taxes $ 67.07 <br />Delinquent weed tax 6.09 <br />Delinquent J-10 467:16 <br />Tax penalties -coat 290'3 <br />Bond penalty . 1071*5 $677.19 <br />On January ll, 1939, a check was received in the amount of $525.32• <br />Please confirm the above authorization." <br />Authorization as requested was given on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by <br />Councilman Jones. <br />This was the time for the adoption of the real estate sign ordinance, but the attorney <br />explained that it had not been published because he wished to make certain changes <br />
