n", <br />�. 475 <br />0 <br />Communication from W. D. Keith relative to the selection of a new City <br />Manager was ordered filed. <br />Complaint of Robert E. Callogy about water rates was read. The City <br />Clerk was directed, on motion of Councilman Anderson seconded by <br />Councilman Werder, to send Mr. Callogy a copy of the report recent- <br />ly'_supmitted by the Committee on Water Rates together with a state - <br />ment of water consumed since April 1, 19/.1. <br />Petition by eight consumers on Glenlock Way & Sylvan Way, Emerald Lake <br />relative to inadequate water supply and water pressure was read. <br />This matter was referred to the Engineering Department for in- <br />vestigation and report at the next meeting. <br />( On motion of Councilman Werder seconded by Councilman Anderson, a <br />(� verbal agreement by the former City Manager C. L. Dimmitt and <br />Lee 0. Cox whereby the City would furnish Mr. Cox water from its <br />Idistribution mains for irrigation purposes at a special rate of <br />1V per 100 cubic feet net, was confirmed. The City Collector <br />was directed to submit at the next meeting a statement of deposits <br />required of all water consumers. <br />�! Communication from Congressman John Z. Anderson relative to a classified <br />Post Office station in the vicinity of Broadway and E1 Camino Real <br />was ordered filed. <br />On motion of Councilman Fletcher seconded by Councilman.McNulty recom- <br />mendation of Mayor F. D. Granger, Councilman Anderson and Chief <br />of Police C. L. Collins was approved: <br />1. That there by created the position of Police Corporal. <br />2. That the salary of Police Corporal be established at <br />a rate of 05.00 per month in excess of the salary of <br />Police Patrolman. <br />Y <br />3. That every effort be made to fill this position by <br />soliciting for volunteers from the regular police <br />force. <br />Also discussed and delayed until a subsequent meeting was the <br />desirability of having employees take medical examinations <br />annually. <br />Communication from Ferris W. Miles, Chairman, Traffic Study Committee <br />relative to Traffic matters referred to the Committee, on which <br />no report has yet been received, was read and on motion of <br />Councilman Anderson seconded by Councilman Fletcher, it was <br />decided that these matters be considered along with the report <br />t <br />
