Ps <br />on the day of the first regular meeting in September, lost by a <br />vote of 4 to 3; Councilman Anderson, Fletcher., McNulty and Werder <br />voted ttnott and Councilman Britschgi, Hilton and Mayor Granger <br />voted styes". Finally, Mayor Granger vacated the. Chair and.offered <br />a motion that the final date for receiving applications for the <br />position of City Manager be 7:55 P.M. on the day of the first <br />regular meeting in September. The motion was seconded by Council- <br />man Britschgi, put by Councilman McNulty and unanimously carried <br />on roll call vote. <br />Councilman Werder was granted a 90 -day leave of absence and permission <br />to leave the State, effective on the date notice or Orders to ' <br />report to the U.S. Navy was given to the City Clerk, on motion of <br />Councilman Fletcher seconded by Councilman Hilton. <br />The City Clerk was directed on motion of Councilman Werder `seconded by <br />Councilman. Anderson to request. the Chairman of the Planning Com- <br />mission to arrange for a meeting with the County Planning Commis- <br />sion in connection with unified Planning Program. <br />Recommendation of Alfred Morton, Recreation Director, that the name of <br />Hawes Park be changed to Dimmitt Field subject to receipt of for- <br />mal recommendation by the Recreation Commission, was approved on <br />motion of Councilman Fletcher seconded by Councilman Anderson. <br />Resolution in memorium of the late Charles L. Dimmitt was unanimously <br />adopted on motion of Councilman McNulty seconded by Councilman <br />Fletcher. <br />Joseph Smith, City Mechanic, addressed the Council in connection with <br />his request for additional compensation and when informed by <br />Mayor Granger it was the conclusion of the Council that his <br />request could not be granted replied Well then Gentlemen, I quitif. <br />Departmental reports were ordered filed. <br />Approved Claims Nos. 1700 to 1756 in the amount of $12,735.57 were <br />ordered paid on motion of Councilman McNulty seconded by Council- <br />man Fletcher. <br />Council adjourned in respect to the memory of Charles L.
