54 <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />JUNE 192 1939 <br />5:00 P. M. � s <br />f <br />Upon roll call the following were present: Councilmen E. A. Fletcher, <br />Wm. Hohn, R. N. Jones, P. A. McCarthy, G. W. McNulty, Mayor L. C. <br />Christensen, and City Clerk B. E. Myers. Absent, H. F. Anderson. <br />The minutes of the meeting of June 5 were approved on motion of Council- <br />man McNulty, seconded by Councilman Hohn. <br />Mr. Duncan Reynard, representing the American Legion, appeared before <br />the Council to present a plaque to Joseph Bergman who had success- <br />fully answered questions concerning flag ettiquette. Recognition <br />was also given to Gordon Day. <br />Bishop Blakeley, representing the American Legion, addressed the Council <br />about placing a plaque on the new library, and on motion of Council- <br />man McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, general consent was <br />given subject, of course, to approval of the Board of Library <br />Trustees. <br />The City Planning Commission recommended to the Council the granting to <br />J. R. Laurie permission to subdivide Lots 12 and 13, Block 1, of <br />Reese Subdivision, at the southeast corner of Oak Avenue and Ebner <br />Street. On motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman <br />Fletcher, the Council granted permit. <br />In another letter to the Council the city Planning Commission recom- <br />mended the re -appointment of Ed. Allen whose term had expired. <br />Mayor Christensen re -appointed Mr. Allen to the Planning Com- <br />mission and his appointment was ratified by the Council on motion <br />of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman McCarthy. <br />The city Tax Collector submitted the following letter: <br />"On June 16, 1939, Mayor Christensen and City Manager <br />Dimmitt recommended that the sum of $1018.59 be accepted in <br />settlement of the charges on the following property instead <br />of $1215.59 actually due if the total amount was paid in <br />full. The property referred to is Arb. B1k. 123, Lot 12, <br />and Arb. Blk. 124, Lot 3, or legal description Lots 7-8, <br />Block 5, Central Park. Lots 15-16, Bl k . 2, Central Park. <br />Delinquent Taxes $l16.63 <br />Delinquent Ifeed 19.41 <br />Del. Bond Assmt. K-5 769.20 <br />Tax Pen. and Costs 51.33 <br />Bond Assmt. Pen. 201.02 <br />Del. Assmt. Res. M-15 16.00 <br />Del. Assmt. Res. M-5 6.00 <br />Attorney fee and Title Search 40.00 <br />01218.59 <br />A check has been received in the amount of 01018.59. <br />Please confirm the above authorization." <br />
