McCarthy, G.W. McNulty, Mayor L.C. Christensen, and
City Clerk B.E. Myers; absent, Councilmen H.F. Anderson and R.N. Jones.
The minutes of the meeting of August 7th and of the adjourned regular
meeting of August 14, were approved on motion of Councilman Fletcher,
seconded by Councilman McNulty.
The Clerk read a letter from the city Planning Commission in which recom-
mendation was made that Charles Lock be permitted to divide Lot 1,
Block 3, New High School Acres, into three lots according to plan
submitted. Permission granted on motion of Councilman McNulty,
seconded by Councilman Fletcher.
George C. Brodsgar, 712 Fulton Street, the owner of two hives of bees at
that address, appeared before the Council at its request. Complaint
had been made that the bees were a source of danger to young children
in the vicinity. Although discussion ensued, no action was taken
except to postpone any decision until the subject could be studied
further. A
The City Manager presented to the Council the claims of the G. W. Williams
Company for the final payment on the Library; of Frank J. Reilly
Company for the final payment on the City Hall, and of James H.
Mitchell, final payment on both projects as Architect. It was ex- j
i
plained that all bills were considerably past due and ought to be
1
paid but that the P.W.A. payments had not been received to supply the
necessary funds. On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by
Councilman McCarthy, it was decided to pay these claims and the City
Treasurer was accordingly authorized and instructed to transfer from
the Water Department Fund sufficient money into the respective P.W.A.
Funds for the purpose.
On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman McCarthy, Ordinance
No. 427, Fixing the Amount of Money to be Raised by Taxation, was
formally adopted.
A. J. Wilbe, 1002 Arlington Road, appeared before the Council at its re-
quest concerning his bill for $412.02 in connection with the Model
Home. After discussion it was decided on motion of Councilman
1
i
