The Clerk was asked to notify
them that a committee was being formed to investigate the suggestion,
and it was understood that the Mayor and the City Manager would make
a study of the situation and furnish report to the Council.
Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Anderson, proposed adoption
of resolution accenting deed from the Valley and Coast warehouse
Company, being land purchased for the benefit of the Port of Redwood
City. Carried.
Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman McNulty, proposed adoption of
resolution adopting budget and approving Memorandum of Agreement for
the Expenditure of 1/4 Cent Gas Tax Allocated for Streets of Mayor
Importance and authorizing the City Manager to sign for the City.
Carried.
The City Manager submitted two requests from Foster & Kleiser of San Fran-
cisco, the first one being for the installation of two poster panels
at indicated points on El Camino Real, being panels taken down from
location at the Clarkson Motor Company lot on E1 Camino Real; the
second being for the removal of signs and their relocation at other
sites. It was decided, on motion of Councilman Jones, seconded by
Councilman McNulty, that no more signs be permitted where the signs
were already taken down, but that the Mayor and the City Manager be
authorized to use their discretion in permitting a change of location
for any panel.
There was some discussion concerning the desirability of revising some
ordinances and perhaps recommending other ordinances concerning the
control of fowls, insects, and various animals, and a committee con-
sisting of Councilmen McCarthy and Anderson, the City Manager, the
Building Inspector, and City Attorney was appointed to study the
question. Councilman Hohn voted "No" because he thought the ground
covered should be broader.
Councilman McCarthy, following his reading of the Auditor's report, suggest-
ed that a committee be appointed to study some of the recommendations
made in the report, and on his motion, seconded by Councilman McNulty,
the Mayor appointed Councilmen McCarthy and Anderson, City Manager,
Treasurer, Attorney, Port Manager, and one of the Port Commissioners,
91
