gF
Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, proposed the adoption
of resolution setting forth certain lots with minimum sale prices
recommended by the committee for advertisement in the local paper.
Resolution carried.
The City Manager submitted an offer from Domonico Purcelli and Maude Purcelli,
his wife, to buy Lot 8, Block 4 of New High School Acres for $1,060,
$70 down and the balance at $30 a month plus interest at 6 percent. On
motion of Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman McCarthy, the
Council accepted the offer and authorized the City Tax Collector to
sign the contract of sale.
The City Manager submitted offer of Walter T. Walsh, 460 Fell Street, San
Francisco, to pay $400 cash for S. E. 40.14' of Lot 33 of the Lee Tract.
On motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Anderson, the
Manager was authorized to take the necessary steps to sell the lot with
the understanding that a deposit of at least $50 would be made.
R. F. Martin, who is now operating the city bus, asked the Council to con-
tinue its contribution of $100 toward building up the business. This
amount had previously been given to Walter Vandervort, but the agree-
ment terminated September 30. The Council thought it unnecessary to
appropriate as much as $100 a month for this project and a vote was '1
taken on $75 a month, which lost 4 to 3. Finally, on motion of Council-
man McCarthy, seconded by Councilman McNulty, the Council voted to
appropriate $50 a month for six months for this purpose. j
On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman McCarthy, the City
Attorney was instructed to draw up an ordinance regulating narking
along Jefferson Avenue between Broadway and Middlefield Road and along
Middlefield Road between Jefferson Avenue and Main Street. It was also
,
understood that the Attorney and the City Manager with the Chief of
Police would make a general survey of city-wide parking.
In consideration of the recent legislation holding that pneumonia and/or
heart failure on the part of firemen and policemen would be considered
prima facie as having occurred in line of duty, the City Manager, on
motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Anderson, was
instructed to see that each year all firemen and policemen have exam-
ination made to show their heart condition.
Councilman McCarthy spoke about the recent legislation concerning plans for
retirement of municipal employees and the committee, of which he is
Ii
I I
'I
