on motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman, McNulty, after eliminat- <br />ing second paragraph of resolution as originally offered. Carried unanimously <br />on roll call. Councilman Anderson absent. - <br />On motion of Councilman Britschgi, seconded by Councilman Armstrong,, resolution wras <br />offered authorizing request for financial aid from State of California to carry <br />on certain activities in Civilian Defense. Motion carried on roll call. 'Council- <br />man Anderson absent. <br />Resolution was offered on motion of'Councilma_n Britschgi, seconded by Councilman <br />McNulty, whereby the City of.Redi^rood City accepts deed to 2.1 acres of ground <br />purchased by Port Commission. Resolution adopted on roll call. Councilman <br />Anderson absent. <br />;ouncilman Brits.ehgi commented on property at Cassia and Heller stating that the lot <br />had not been- cleaned up after. the condemned building had been torn down, <br />.suggesting that City 16nager Mead write a letter to the owner requesting him to <br />J.. N <br />clean. up same. . <br />Mr. Nuckolls, 1229 Middlefield Road, complained of the appearance of the <br />building next to the one removed stating that same.was an eyesore. <br />councilman Armstrong commented on the City's service of picking up trash on vacant <br />lots for a very nominal sum stating that he thought this service which is <br />available to everyone was very commendable. <br />lir. H. H. Weiner appeared before the Council requesting that, if possible, oil be <br />obtained to complete streets in Lenolt Tract6 City Tanager Mead explained to <br />Mr. Weiner that Certificate of Necessity would be supplied for maintenance <br />purposes only. There being no chance to obtain certificate for new road <br />construction. <br />Mayor Granger called attention of the Council to�the state -law which takes effect on <br />August kth requiring that the state flag be flown in front of all public.buildings <br />City Manager was directed toinvestigate and bring in recommendation to Council <br />at the.next meeting. <br />Claims Nos. 2931 to 2977, totaling $lo;413.78 were approved for payment on motion of. <br />Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Fletcher. <br />On motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Britschgi, meeting/adjourned <br />to Monday, August 9th at -10 A.M. at which time the Council will sit as the Board <br />of Equalization. <br />Adjournment. <br />0 <br />/(A <br />R.
