ANNUAL MEETING BOARD OF EQUALIZATION AUGUST 99 1943 10:00 A.M. The annual meeting of.the Board of Equalization convened in the Council Chambers in the City Hall, Redwood City, California„ at the hour of 10.00 a.m. Clerk advi-sed that notice to taxpayers had been published in the Redwood City Tribune on August 4th and August 7th, 1943, thus complying with the law. There being no protestant or taxpayer appearing before the Board and having received no written protest, meeting adjourned at 10:25 a.m. on motion of Boardmember 4 McNulty, seconded by Boardmember Hilton. Adjournment. R. S. Dodge,. City Clerk 4 MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL AUGUST 16, 19+3 9:001P. M. Upon roll call the following were present: Councilmen H. F. Anderson, C. C. Armstrong C. A..Britschgi, W. W. Hilton, G. W. McNulty, Mayor F. D. Granger and City Clerk R. S. Dodge; also present were City Manager R. W. Mead, City Attorney P..A. McCarthy, Police Chief C, L. Collins, Fire Chief 1.4. E. Ryan, Street Sliperintendeni, 'H. L. Winter,.Building Inspector L. M. Duncan and Health_Inspector E. Stein. Absent, Councilman E. A. Fletcher. .On motion of Councilman Armstrong, seconded by Councilman Britsehgi, minutes of meeting of August 2nd were approved. Application for permit to hold annual rummage sale from August,23rd to 28th, inclusive; received from the "Rummageers" of the St. Peters Episcopal Church. Permit alloyed on motion of Councilman Bra_ts•chgiI seconded by Councilman McNulty. Application for permit toholdrummage sale on October lst, received from Redwood City Woman's Club, allowed on motion of Councilman.Hilton, seconded by Councilman McNulty. Application for dance permit received from Eldon Algeo to be held on August l8th and 25th until 12 midnight. On motion of Councilman Britsehgi, seconded by Councilmatx Anderson, permit granted. Application received for dance permit for Saturdays, Aw ust 21st, 28th, and September 4th, to be by Court Madrone No. 158, F. of A., Question was raised by Councilman McNulty whether or not this permit should be issued without collection of the usual fee, inasmuch as newspaper articles indicated dance was to be conducted by Eldon Algeo. On motion of Councilman Anderson, seconded by Council- man Armstrong, permit was granted subject to collection of license fee if in- vestigation proved dances were not conducted as covered by application.
