After considerable discussion, recommendation of <br />the Planning Commission approved on motion of Councilman Armstrong, seconded by, <br />Councilman Britschgi. , <br />k <br />Mr. Cheatham of 011a Ti6nda, 405 E1 Camino Real appeared before the Council requesting <br />permission to erect an aitming to extend over the sidewalk in front of his builcing, <br />explaining that this would he conptructed of metal frame with the roof.- On <br />motion of Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman Britschgi, request was <br />1: <br />k <br />i <br />0 <br />D <br />granted. <br />1 <br />City Manager Mead was requested to check on business licenses concerning music <br />teachers, dancing teacher, etc., located generally in first and second residentia= <br />districts, and to report back at the next meeting. <br />Communication received from highschool students relative to curfew ordinance was re - <br />ferrel: to City Attorney McCarthy who was directed to furnish an explanation and <br />definition of the new ordinance with the thought that possibly the Tribune could <br />furnish some publicity on the matter, on motion of Councilman Armstrong, seconded <br />by Councilman Anderson. <br />Mr. George Paul appeared before Council requesting that something be done to correct <br />the condition of the sidewalk in front of his property, Lots 6, 7 and 8. Block <br />14, Central Park, between Harrison and James Streets. On motion of Councilman <br />Anderson, seconded by Councilman Armstrong, City Manager directed to investigate <br />and take care of the matter. <br />Mr. L. Nicholson, 50 Finger Avenue, appeared before the Council explaining that Health <br />Inspector had called at his place and•notified him that he was in violation of <br />the ordinance covering the number of chickens allowed in class 1 residential <br />district. Mr.. Nicholson asked permission to keep these chickens for the duration., <br />stating that he did not sell either chickens or rabbits but furnished them to <br />friends and relatives free of charge. After considerable discussion, Mr. Nichols( -.n <br />was ordered to comply with,the ordinance, however, he would be given sufficient <br />time to reduce the size of his flock to 20 full grown chickens, on motion of <br />Councilman Britschgi, seconded by„Councilman Armstrong. - <br />Mr. Angelo Davanis of Five Points Hotel appeared before the Council stating that hb <br />had approximately a total of 138 rabbits, asking permission to keep these rabbits <br />until able to transfer to a location outside the city limits. On motion of <br />Councilman Armstrong, seconded by Councilman McNulty, Mr. Davanis was allowed time <br />not to exceed two weeks in which to make the transfer. <br />Mr. Stuart.Copps appeared before the Council relative to scrap pile located on <br />Jefferson Avenue outside the city limits. On motion of Councilman Anderson, <br />seconded by Councilman McNulty, City Manager Mead was requested to check into <br />this, also the matter of scrap located on county property next to the city corp- <br />oration yard, and report back at the next meeting. <br />Application for commercial permit to raise chickens received from Mrs. H. E. Rising of <br />1622 Union Avenue. Health Inspector reported that premises were clean and met <br />0 <br />CIA <br />
