Application granted subject to regular fee on motion <br />.of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Hilton. <br />Affidavit of publication of the Red;Feather Annexation Ordinance ordered filed on <br />motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Anderson. Adoption on roll call, Councilman Armstrong <br />F noted absent. <br />Matter. of abatement of nuisance, bootblack stand next to 2069 Broadway, Laid over to <br />next meeting on motion of Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman Fletcher. <br />City Attorney McCarthy reported posting and mailing of usual notices. <br />Matter of Redwood City Bus Line's financial report laid over to the next meeting on <br />motion of Councilman.Britschgi, seconded by Councilman Fletcher. <br />Mr. A. N. Patterson appeared before the Council relative to the elimination of the <br />strip of ground in the fire zone in the vicinity of Vera Avenue and El Caigino Real. <br />Mr. John Nordstrand, repxeienting the Commuters' Club, also appeared before the <br />Council in opposition to the change in the fire zone. In answer to the.question <br />whether or not formal application was on record with the Council to change the <br />fire zone, City Attorney McCarthy explained that there was none on file and that <br />the ordinance requires that a regular formal application must be filed with the <br />Clerk who, in turn, refers request to the Planning Commission for 'their recommends <br />tion to the Council. Councilman Britschgi stated that the hearing should be <br />heard before the Planning Commission and, therefore, there was no purpose in <br />hearing the protestant at this meeting. Councilman McNulty in agreement. Attorne7 <br />0. F. Nuckolls,•attorney for protestants residing in the area affected, stated <br />that he was in full agreement with City Attorneylz ruling, -.-He then submitted to <br />,the Clerk a petition with more than 100 signatures of property owners requesting <br />that the fire, zone be left in its present state, also requesting a change of the <br />district from residential zone 2 to residential zone 1. On motion of Councilman <br />McNulty, seconded by Councilman Britschgi, Clerk was directed to refer petition <br />to the Planning Commission. <br />Mr. Martin Flynn addressed the Council stating that he was against the change of <br />the area from residential zone 2 to residential zone 1, withdrawing application <br />for multiple family dwellings which were contemplated on Vera Avenue.. <br />Mr. Michael Counihan appeared before the Council stating that he had received a bill <br />for garbage service which had not been rendered.
