Mr. Counihan became abusive in his remarks and, when <br />Health Inspector Hodge reported his premises to be in an untidy condition, be- <br />came violent and was removed from -the Chambers by Chief Collins. <br />Ordinance governing the sale of electrical appliances was discussed. Councilman <br />Fletcher offered the introduction, seconded by Councilman McNulty. <br />City Manager Mead reported on dust condition at the Garden City Products Company, <br />stating that dust was caused by manufacture of rabbit pellets made up of 40/o <br />alfalfa meal. The proprietor of the Garden City Products Company agreed to <br />attempt to eliminate the dust condition by installing dust collectors, request- <br />ing reasonable time for such installation. On motion of Councilman McNulty, <br />seconded by Councilman Hilton, City Manager's recommendations were accepted. <br />Mr. H. H. Weiner addressed the Council relative to abatement of nuisance to eliminate <br />service station building on Arguello and D Streets, requesting permission to <br />move the building to another location to be -rebuilt into a garage. Building <br />Inspector Duncan suggested that inasmuch as the building was of steel con,struct- <br />ion such an alteration would probably cost more than an original construction. <br />Mr. Weiner explained that he desired to use this building due to the shortage <br />of certain building materials and, after assuring Councilman Fletcher that the <br />building would be moved by the next meeting, he was granted permission on motion <br />of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman McNulty. <br />Councilman Fletcher requested that the Traffic Study Committee be requested to submit <br />recommendations on the erection of stop signs on Redwood Avenue at the Valota <br />Road intersection, Redwood Avenue at Hudson' Street., and on Roosevelt at the '• <br />Hudson Street intersection. On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by <br />Councilman Anderson, Clerk was directed to refer these requests to the Traffic - <br />Study Committee. j <br />Councilman Britschgi also requested that the Traffic Study Committee study the <br />stop sign at Pennsylvania Avenue and Jefferson Avenue, he being of the opinion <br />that the stop should be on Pennsylvania rather than on Jefferson. Councilman <br />Britschgi moved that the matter be referred to the Traffic Study Committee, <br />seconded by Councilman Hilton. <br />City Attorney McCarthy stated that new plans and specifications for cleaning and im- <br />proving Redwood Creek had been prepared and that rebolution had been written in. <br />Councilman Fletcher offered the resolution, seconded by Councilman Anderson. <br />Carried on roll call. Councilman Armstrong being noted absent. <br />City Manager Mead reported that parking lots would be armour -coated within the next <br />two weeks, also that the cleaning of the creek from El Camino Real to the { <br />McKinley School would be taken care of by the City before the rainy season. <br />Calims 3129 to 3178, totaling $14,696.76, were approved for payment on motion of <br />Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Fletcher. <br />Adjournment..
