MINUTES OF REGULAR,MEETING

<br />Upon roll call the following were present: Councilmen H. F. Anderson, C. C. Armstrong,
<br />C. A. Britschgi, E. A. Fletcher, W. W. Hilton, G. W. McNulty, Mayor F. D. Granger
<br />� and City Clerk R. S. Dodge, Also present were City Manager R. W. Mead, City

<br />Attorney P. A. McCarthy, Police Chief C. L. Collins, Fire Chief M. E. Ryan, City
<br />Collector Nelle L. Miramontes, Building Inspector L. M. Duncan, Street Super-
<br />intendent H. L. Winter. Absent Health•Inspector Royal Hodge.
<br />Minutes of previous meeting were -approved on motion of Councilman Anderson, seconded
<br />by Councilman Fletcher.
<br />Application for dance permit received from Saint Peter's Episcopal. Church for Saturday,
<br />November 20th, at the Parish Hall on Clinton Street. Permit granted on motion
<br />of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Hilton.
<br />Application for permit received from Court Madrone No, 158, F. of A., for dances on
<br />,the nights of November 20th, 27th and December 4th. Councilman Anderson.moved,
<br />seconded by Councilman McNulty, that permit be granted. Under the question
<br />Mayor Granger raised the question about complaints having been received regarding',
<br />disturbances created at the dances in the Foresters Hall, stating that he person -1
<br />ally would vote to grant the permit providing the organization would supply un-
<br />iformed special officers. Councilman Britschgi questioned Chief Collins as to
<br />whether any shore patrol would be available in this area. Chief Collins advised
<br />that shore patrol was being organized and would be possibly available in the near,
<br />future. Councilman Anderson offered amendment to the original motion to the
<br />effect that permit be allowed providing no liquor be sold or dispensed on the

<br />premises. Councilman Fletcher seconded the motion which carried unanimously.
<br />Councilman Britschgi voting no.
<br />Application for dance permit received from Eldon Algeo for the Wednesdays, November
<br />17th, 24th and December lst, at Foresters Hall. On motion of Councilman Fletcher,
<br />seconded by Councilman Armstrong, permit was granted under the same conditions
<br />as above. Councilman Britschgi voted no.

<br />Councilman Anderson moved, seconded by Councilman Armstrong, that effort be made to
<br />secure shore patrol service in the Redwood City area.
<br />Application for dance permit received from Peninsula Lodge #320 of Palo Alto for the
<br />evening of December 9, 1943- On motion of Councilman Armstrong, seconded by
<br />Councilman Britschgi, matter held up until the next meeting, December 6th.
<br />Application for permit to conduct Christmas Gift Sale on Wednesday, December 1st at
<br />840 Main Street, received from Mrs. Frank Logo, S.D.A. Church, Dorcas Society.
<br />Permit allowed on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Anderson.
<br />Communication received from San Mateo County Tuberculosis and Health Assn, requesting
<br />donation for their 37th annual Christmas Seal Sale. On motion of Councilman
<br />Fletcher,'seconded by Councilman McNulty, the sum of 025.00 was authorized to
<br />purchase Christmas Seal Bond. Motion carried.
<br />�1 Communication received from Frank A. DePatta, Chairman Salvage Committee, enclosing
<br />�J check in the amount of $27.10, proceeds of tin -can sales in the month of October.
