4 <br />Departmental report's were, ordered filed on motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded <br />by Councilman McNulty. <br />Mayor Granger read resolution authorizing adjournment of meeting in memory of Jack <br />D. Golly, formerly a resident of this city who passed away while in the service <br />of his country.. Councilman Fletcher offered the intro.duction,of this resolution, <br />seconded by Councilman McNulty, unanimously carried on roll call.. <br />Adjournment. <br />R. S. Dodge, City Clerk <br />B <br />MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING <br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />NOVEMBER 29, 19+3 <br />8:00 P. M. <br />Upon roll call the following were present: Councilmen H. F', Anderson, C. C. Armstrong, <br />C. A. Britschgi, E. A. Fletcher, W. W. Hilton, G. W. McNulty, Mayor F. D. Granger,, <br />and Clerk R. S. Dodge. Also ,present were City Manager R. W. Mead, City Attorney <br />P. A. McCarthy, Police Chief C. L. Collins, Fire Chief M. E. Ryan, and Street <br />Superintendent H. L. Winter. <br />Mayor Granger called for special order of business. City Manager Mead submitted <br />communication from the Parks and Recreation Commission as follows: <br />"The Parks and Recreation Commission recommends the <br />purchase of Lot 13 for the reported price of $24000. <br />- Description of a Portion <br />of <br />Lot 13 - Wooster, Whitton & Montgomery's Subdivision <br />of a Part of the Redwood Farm <br />".Lot 13 as shown on map of "Wooster, Whitton & Montgomery's <br />Subdivision of a Part of the Redwood Farm", filed July 9, 19023, <br />in Book 11E1' of Maps, Page 31, in the Recorder's Office, San Mateo <br />County, State of California, lying southeasterly from the south- <br />easterly line of Vera Avenue if extended in a straight line <br />southwesterly across said Lot 132 and southerly from the souther- <br />ly line of the City and County of San Francisco's Hetch Hetchy Acqueduct <br />Right of Way. Containing 24.25 acres more or leas. <br />"In the .event that this purchase is made, the Commission <br />recommends that proceedings be instituted for the acquiring <br />of approximately sixteen acres of. -the adjacent lands also <br />a part of this subdivision." <br />City Manager Mead submitted a map covering the proposed 14.25 acres also <br />additional acreage adjacent thereto, explaining that he was of the opinion that a <br />plan could be worked out whereby the City could acquire this acreage. City <br />Attorney McCarthy explained that in his opinion a five-year optional contract bases <br />would.be satisfactory. Mr. Mead advised he had discussed the matter with Mr.. <br />Morrish of the First National Bank who stated he possibly could get the money to <br />handle the deal. <br />Onmotionof Councilman Anderson„ seconded by Councilman Fletcher, City <br />Manager Mead was' authorized to proceed with the assistance of.
