F.'Nuckolls appeared before the Council in behalf of
the protestants,'stating that he understood that at the last me'eting"'of"the
Council the matter'had been continued at the requeat'of the 'Planning Commission..
The Planning Commission has not yet had its regular me sting'but will haveone by,
the next meeting of the4 ouncil and Mr. Nuckolls understood that the committee
appointed to draft an amendment to the ordinance would have it ready for the
next meeting of the Planning Commission and requested that the Council take no
action at this meeting. If the ordinance were passed tonight, it would leave '
the property owners in that district with no protection against multiple
buildings being built.
" Mr. Martin Flynn appeared before the Council stating that the Planning C'ommissio
"unanimously passed the recommendation that Lot 7, Block A, -Vera Avenue Villas
be removed from the Fire zone and he did not believe that the amendment before
the Planning Commission at the present time had any effect upon the particular
50 feetin question. He said if any change is made in the ordinance it will
take another few weeps in order that the property owners can approve or deny
the change and it will be some'months iiefore the -matter can be settled. He
asked the Council to take action one way or the other at this meeting.
Mayor Granger asked'the City Clerk to read'exmerpts from the minuted of the last
meeting pertaining to postponing action on removing this particular piece of I
property from the fire zone.
Councilman Britechgi commented on the fact that Mr.,Flynn had appeared before
the Council in -connection with this matter several times and that no headway had
been made. He made the motion that the fire zone be moved toward the highway
50 feet. City Attorney McCarthy stated that an ordinance has been introduced
and adoption of this ordinance was in order.
