Discussion'of this matter Was' held over uritil later in the meeting <br />'The'matter of rezoning of 'Lot 7, Block A, Vera Avenue Villas was next 'brought up for <br />discussion. Attorney 0. F.'Nuckolls appeared before the Council in behalf of <br />the protestants,'stating that he understood that at the last me'eting"'of"the <br />Council the matter'had been continued at the requeat'of the 'Planning Commission.. <br />The Planning Commission has not yet had its regular me sting'but will haveone by, <br />the next meeting of the4 ouncil and Mr. Nuckolls understood that the committee <br />appointed to draft an amendment to the ordinance would have it ready for the <br />next meeting of the Planning Commission and requested that the Council take no <br />action at this meeting. If the ordinance were passed tonight, it would leave ' <br />the property owners in that district with no protection against multiple <br />buildings being built. <br />" Mr. Martin Flynn appeared before the Council stating that the Planning C'ommissio <br />"unanimously passed the recommendation that Lot 7, Block A, -Vera Avenue Villas <br />be removed from the Fire zone and he did not believe that the amendment before <br />the Planning Commission at the present time had any effect upon the particular <br />50 feetin question. He said if any change is made in the ordinance it will <br />take another few weeps in order that the property owners can approve or deny <br />the change and it will be some'months iiefore the -matter can be settled. He <br />asked the Council to take action one way or the other at this meeting. <br />Mayor Granger asked'the City Clerk to read'exmerpts from the minuted of the last <br />meeting pertaining to postponing action on removing this particular piece of I <br />property from the fire zone. <br />Councilman Britechgi commented on the fact that Mr.,Flynn had appeared before <br />the Council in -connection with this matter several times and that no headway had <br />been made. He made the motion that the fire zone be moved toward the highway <br />50 feet. City Attorney McCarthy stated that an ordinance has been introduced <br />and adoption of this ordinance was in order. Councilman Britsdhgi corrected <br />'his motion and moved•that ordinance be adopted removing Lot 7;; Block A, Vera <br />Avenue Villas from the 'fire zone. Councilman -Fletcher seconded the motion. <br />
