Acting City Engineer was directed, on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by <br />f Councilman Hilton, to inform Mr. L. C. Smith that action must be taken on his <br />contract for construction of storm drainage facilities at the Broadway -Perry <br />Street intersection within the 20 day time limit as provided by the contract. <br />D <br />0 <br />City Clerk was asked by the Mayor to present at the next meeting the lease to Emil <br />DeHoff and extracts of the minutes of the Council approving same. <br />Councilman Britschgi brought up the matter of maintenance of municipal buildings and <br />after discussion it was decided that steps be taken immediately to repair the <br />inside of the buildings and that the Building Inspector report at the next <br />ing on the matter of correcting the gutters to eliminate stains on the outsides <br />of the buildings. <br />The advisibility of enacting a local curfew ordinance was discussed. <br />Ordered placed on the agenda for the next meeting was the matter of retirement bene- <br />fits payable to the beneficiary of Albert Mansfield. <br />Abatement of the Lown houses at Hilton,and"Chestnut Streets was referred to the <br />ing Inspector for report at the next meeting. <br />H. H. Weiner addressed the Council in connection with the construction of a street <br />in the Lenolt Tract and asked, that due to the freezing of ro.ed oil, he be <br />granted permission to construct a street with a water bound surface and that <br />same be accepted by the City. Following discussion, a motion by Councilman <br />McNulty, seconded by Councilman Britschgi, that the request be denied lost by a <br />vote of 5 to 2. Mr. Weiner, having previously expressed willingness to file <br />bond with the City to insure construction of"an oil bound street when materials <br />were available, it was decided on motion of Councilman Jenkins, seconded by <br />Councilman Britschgi, that there was no objection to the construction of a watez <br />bound surfaced street conforming to established specifications and the City as- <br />sumed no responsibility for its maintenance; provided however that Mr. Weiner <br />deposited with the City a bond or sum of money sufficient to pay the cost of <br />placing the street in condition to meet the Cityts specifications and to provide <br />an oil bound surface for same when materials are available., <br />Departmental reports were ordered filed. <br />Approved claims Nos. 19/8 to 1990 in the amount of $10,788.74 were ordered paid on <br />motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Pletcher. <br />Adjournment. <br />i <br />CWE: ES , <br />i <br />C.W.
