L' 13 U MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL NOVEMBER 2, 1942 8:00 P. IM. Upon roll- call the following were present: Councilmen H. F. Anderson, Carl Britschg:'., E. A. Fletcher,' W. W. Hilton, G. W. McNulty, Louis Jenkins, Jr., Mayor F. D. Granger and City Clerk C. if. Eltringliam. Also present were City Manager Robert ZP. Mead, City Attorney P. A. McCarthy, City Collector'N. L. Miramontes, Fire Chief M. E. Ryan, Chief of Police C. L. Collins', Building Inspector L. M. Dun- can, and Acting City Engineer R. J. Clarke. 'Minutes of the regular meetings of October 5 and October 19, 1942, were approved on motion of Councilman Britschgi, seconded by Councilman Fletcher. The minutes of the special meeting of October 26, 1942, Vrere amended on motion of Councilman Anderson', seconded by Councilman Hilton,,to show Councilman Hilton present and voted yes on matters coming before that meeting, and approved, asr. amended, on motion•of Councilman Britschgi,•seconded by Councilman Fletcher, Young Ladies Institution was granted permission to conduct a rummage sale at 886 Main Street on November 20 and 21 on motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Britschgi. Mrs. Clelia Bertini appeared before the Council in connection with replacement of the bulkhead on,the creek along her property on Oak Avenue and stated that it n was her impression that the entire bulkhead was to be replaced instead of a por- tion, as is now being done. Following discussion, the City Manager was instruc- ted, on motion of Councilman Britschgi, seconded by Councilman Anderson, to re- construct the entire bulkhead adjoining the'property. Agreement between Emil Dehoff and the City of Redwood City relative to ways at the Yacht Harbor was discussed and at the suggestion of Councilman Anderson, Mayor Granger appointed a committee consisting of Councilmen Anderson and Jenkins to meet with the City Manager for the purpose of determining the amount of rent buildings for the remainder of the year. Ferris W. Miles, Chairman oY the Traffic Study Committee submitted a report result - Ing from a survey of traffic conditions by the California State Automobile'As- soc.iation together with recommendations of the Committee. On motion of Mr. Dehoff should pay for this concession and to report at the next meeting. jl On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Britschgi, consent was given Veterans of Foreign Wars for erection of a'honor scroll for servicemen at some suitable site within the City, provided specifications are submitted for appro-: val before erection of same. City Manager Mead reported the'estimated cost of.patching cracks on the interior of ' the City Hall at about 050:00 and on motion of Councilman Britschgi, seconded 1 by Councilman Hilton, was authorized to make the necessary repairs. Recommen- dation by the City Manager that no action be taken on the•flashing of gutters on the City Hall and Library buildings until spring was accepted on motion of „ Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Anderson, with the recommendation that the 'Manager submit an' estimate of the cost of maintenance of municipal buildings for the remainder of the year.
