L' <br />13 <br />U <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />NOVEMBER 2, 1942 <br />8:00 P. IM. <br />Upon roll- call the following were present: Councilmen H. F. Anderson, Carl Britschg:'., <br />E. A. Fletcher,' W. W. Hilton, G. W. McNulty, Louis Jenkins, Jr., Mayor F. D. <br />Granger and City Clerk C. if. Eltringliam. Also present were City Manager Robert <br />ZP. Mead, City Attorney P. A. McCarthy, City Collector'N. L. Miramontes, Fire <br />Chief M. E. Ryan, Chief of Police C. L. Collins', Building Inspector L. M. Dun- <br />can, and Acting City Engineer R. J. Clarke. <br />'Minutes of the regular meetings of October 5 and October 19, 1942, were approved on <br />motion of Councilman Britschgi, seconded by Councilman Fletcher. <br />The minutes of the special meeting of October 26, 1942, Vrere amended on motion of <br />Councilman Anderson', seconded by Councilman Hilton,,to show Councilman Hilton <br />present and voted yes on matters coming before that meeting, and approved, asr. <br />amended, on motion•of Councilman Britschgi,•seconded by Councilman Fletcher, <br />Young Ladies Institution was granted permission to conduct a rummage sale at 886 <br />Main Street on November 20 and 21 on motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by <br />Councilman Britschgi. <br />Mrs. <br />Clelia Bertini appeared before <br />the Council in <br />connection with <br />replacement <br />of <br />the bulkhead on,the creek along <br />her property <br />on Oak Avenue and <br />stated that <br />it <br />n <br />was her impression that the entire bulkhead was to be replaced instead of a por- <br />tion, as is now being done. Following discussion, the City Manager was instruc- <br />ted, on motion of Councilman Britschgi, seconded by Councilman Anderson, to re- <br />construct the entire bulkhead adjoining the'property. <br />Agreement between Emil Dehoff and the City of Redwood City relative to ways at the <br />Yacht Harbor was discussed and at the suggestion of Councilman Anderson, Mayor <br />Granger appointed a committee consisting of Councilmen Anderson and Jenkins to <br />meet with the City Manager for the purpose of determining the amount of rent <br />buildings for the remainder of the year. <br />Ferris W. Miles, Chairman oY the Traffic Study Committee submitted a report result - <br />Ing from a survey of traffic conditions by the California State Automobile'As- <br />soc.iation together with recommendations of the Committee. On motion of <br />Mr. Dehoff should pay for this concession and to report at the next meeting. <br />jl <br />On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Britschgi, consent was given <br />Veterans of Foreign Wars for erection of a'honor scroll for servicemen at some <br />suitable site within the City, provided specifications are submitted for appro-: <br />val before erection of same. <br />City Manager Mead reported the'estimated cost of.patching cracks on the interior of <br />' <br />the City Hall at about 050:00 and on motion of Councilman Britschgi, seconded <br />1 <br />by Councilman Hilton, was authorized to make the necessary repairs. Recommen- <br />dation by the City Manager that no action be taken on the•flashing of gutters <br />on the City Hall and Library buildings until spring was accepted on motion of <br />„ <br />Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Anderson, with the recommendation <br />that the 'Manager submit an' estimate of the cost of maintenance of municipal <br />buildings for the remainder of the year. <br />Ferris W.
