City Attorney McCarthy advised the Council he had received a letter from Mr. Ensell, <br />attorney for Mr. Curtin of the Redwood City Bus Line, in regard to the failure �} <br />of issue transfers and advising him of the application on file with the <br />Railroad Commission for a new franchise. He also stated it would be appreciated <br />if Mr. McCarthy would appear on behalf of the CAty Council in favor of the <br />granting of the franchise. Councilman Fletcher offered resolution requesting <br />City -Attorney McCarthy to appear for the City'Counc.1 at the hearing of the <br />Railroad Commission in favor of granting the franchise to the Redwood City Bus <br />Line, seconded by Councilmaji McNulty. On roll call, motion passed unanimously, <br />Councilman Anderson being absent. The hearing will be held April.5,.at 10:00 <br />A. 19., in Redwood City. <br />Councilman Hilton offered resolution, seconded by Councilman Britschgi, endorsing, <br />the Redwood City Bus Line's application for consolidation of two franchises. <br />On roll call, motion passed unanimously, Councilman Anderson being absent. <br />City Clerk Dodge read communicatiozi from the League of California Cities., signed by <br />Richard, Graves, Executive Secretary, inviting a representative of the city to <br />attend -the California Community Planning Institutep, March 13-17, 1944 in Los <br />Angeles, and March 20-24, 1944, in Oakland. Councilman Armstrong moved, secondei <br />by Councilman Britschgi, that letter be referred to the Planning Commission <br />advising 'them that the City Council will extend reasonable expenses to send a <br />delegate to attend this institute. M8tion passed unanimously. <br />Claims No. 3773 to 3827 in the amount of N12465.59 were approved and ordered paid on <br />y motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Fletcher. Motion passed �I <br />unanimously. <br />Councilman Fletcher offered resolution, seconded by Councilman,McNulty, to adjourn <br />the meeting out of respect to the memory of Archie Kincaid, former City Attorney. <br />and that a copy of the resolution be sent,to his widow, Minnie Kincaid.
