M. <br />�i City Clerk Dodge administered the oathsof office to Councilmen C. C. Armstrong, <br />I, <br />Floyd D. Granger, W. W. Hilton acid George W. McNulty, newly elected councilmen. <br />�I City Clerk Dodge called the meeting to order and announced that nominations were open <br />for a temporary or permanent chairman of the Council and Mayor of Redwood City. <br />.i <br />i <br />Councilman Armstrong nominated Councilman Hilton as permanent chairman of the <br />Council and Mayor of Redwood City. Councilman Britschgi moved that nominations <br />be closed, seconded by Councilman Anderson. 'Motion passed unanimously. There <br />being no further nominations, Councilman Hilton was declared permanent chairman <br />11 of the Council and Mayor of Redwood City. <br />NIayor'Hilton called the meeting to order. <br />Councilmen Granger and Anderson congratulated the new chairman and mayor and pledged <br />their, support. <br />fi4 Councilman McNulty thanked the people of Redwood City for returning him to office <br />tl He felt it was gratifying to be returned for his eighth term. He congratulated <br />the past mayor on the work he had done and assured the new mayor of his support. <br />ill Councilmen Britschgi and Fletcher also congratulated the new mayor and assured <br />� him of their support. <br />I <br />Councilman Armstrong congratulated the new mayor and pledged his support. He <br />4I <br />stated he would do his best to fulfill the obligation he had undertaken. <br />j Mayor Hilton expressed his appreciation to the people of Redwood City for re- <br />turning him to office and thanked the members of the Council for electing him <br />chairman and mayor. He assured the citizens and members of the Council that he <br />will fulfill the office to the best of his ability. He looked for harmony and <br />stated he will try to carry out the office with dignity. <br />Miss Doris Dean presented"a resolution which she asked the Council to adopt providing <br />for the establishment of a Redwood�City Community Council. City Clerk Dodge read <br />I� <br />the resolution, by-laws of the proposed commission and list of organizations re- <br />presented. <br />Councilman Armstrong offered for adoption resolution that the Redwood City City <br />'i <br />i� Council endorses and approves this committee and council which has been organized, <br />�i approves its selection of officers and recognizes it as an official commission <br />of this city, seconded by Councilman Granger. <br />til <br />�I Under the question, Councilman Britschgi stated he was going to vote against the <br />II <br />;I <br />r; <br />,p <br />
