Councilman Fletcher offered introduction of ordinance to harmonize dates on tax bills with State Law, seconded by Councilman Anderson. Motion passed un- animously. Councilman Granger moved, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, that affidavit of publication advertising for bid for official printing be filed. Motion passed unanimously. City Clerk Dodge opened the sealed bids for official advertising which covers the period September 1, 1944 to August 31, 1945. The bids were as follows: -Redwood City Tribune Times Gazette Peninsula Beacon Star Advertiser Price per "square" Second & subsequent First insertion insertions $1.00 0.50 1.00 -50 1.00 -50 1.00 per column -50 inch , Paid Circu- lation 4697 235 525 not given It was decided that the Star Advertiser's bid was improperly presented and Councilman Fletcher moved, seconded by Councilman Britschgi, that the bid be granted to the Redwood City Tribune inasmuch as it has the largest paid circulation. Motion passed unanimously. Councilman Granger asked the status of the Casurang property at 5 Points. Building Inspector -Duncan reported that he had received a telephone call from Mrs. W in.er who informed him that Mr. Weiner asked to have him advised that the property had been sold and that the purchaser was planning to clean up the premises. Councilman Anderson moved the matter be placed on the agenda. • Councilman Armstrong suggested that the maker of the motion amend his motion that the owner of the property be advised by letter that if the nuisance is not abated by the next meeting of the council the council will abate and bill the owner. Councilman Anderson accepted the amendment and also moved that a copy of the letter be sent to Mr. Weiner, as agent. Further action on condemnation proceedings was continued to the next meeting of the council. Motion passed unanimously. Councilman Bristchgi was of the opinion that it would be in order to have another list of buildings prepared which need to be abated. City Manager Mead agreed to have such a list prepared. City Attorney McCarthy advised the council that a resolution had been adopted de- claring W. L. Meussdorfferls property a nuisance and requiring the removal within 30 days. It was discovered that the description of the property was incorrect and he believed it would be in order to amend the'resolution so that the affected part o$ the property on which the building is located would be in the resolution. Councilman Armstrong offered the amendment to the resolution, seconded by Councflman Granger. On roll call, the motion passed4unanimously. City Clerk Dodge reported that there was to be published in'the Tribune on either August 7th or•8th, and again on August 10th or 11th, notice of receipt of assessment roll by City Clerk and of r4eeting of City Council of the City of Redwood City as Board of Equalization, Monday morning, August 14th at 10:00 A.M. ..
