0, Councilman ArmstronG moved that the permit be denied and the matter placed on the agenda of the next meetin,-, stating it was impossible to grant a permit but.that this would give Mrs. O'Dell two or three weeks to find a place to live. City Manager MQad asked if by this motion he was being instructed to overlook the viola,tign of the ordinance. It wps agreed that he was, and there was no second to the motion. Health Inspector Stein advised the Council that he believed there were vacancies at two trailer camps. Mrs. O'Dell stated these camps did not have bus service which was necessary for her to have in order to get her to her work. Councilman Anderson moved that the city ::Tanager be instructed to find out if there is a violation of the ordinance and to report it at, the next meeting. Councilman Britschg.i said he would not vote for the motion inasmuch as it was practically granting the permit. Mrs. O'Dell then stated she was not living, in the trailer and it was de- cided that inasmuch as she was not living in it she could park it 'on they parking lot. J$ity Clerk Dodge read petition from residents of Palomar Park requesting annexation to; the City of Redwood City. A map., showing the district proposed to be annexed, was also presented. Mr. V. Skogsberg of Loma Road, one of the signers of the petition, appeared before the Council stating that it was their belief that it would be advantageous: to be annexed to the city because it would enhance property values and the dis- trict would get a continuous water supply which it does not get at the present r time. He said that if annexed to the city,°the district would be able to receive, its water from the city. The; system is in and all that would be required is that the crater be pumped in. The fact that the IoTler part of Palomar Park was not included in the pro- posed annexation was questioned by members of the Council who f elt that -the propcised area was too cut up and would create a great deal of expense to provide protec- tive services. It was explained that the residents of the lower part of the dis-, trict were already receiving water from the city and for that reason were not interested in being annexed. Councilman Armstrong asked vhat the cost would be to supply water to this district: City Manager Mead explained that the cost would be absorbed by the water department _end later on the system would have to be revamped inasmuch as second hand pipe has been used -in that district. t Councilman Britschgi moved that the matter be referred to the Planning Com- '. • �' mission and a report be had at the next nesting of the 'Council,- seconded by Councilman Fletcher. Motion passed unanimously. Councilman Gran4er moved that the City Manager be instructed to make a com- plete survey of,the district,,including a survey of the pipe lines, the cost of the water system, tax rate, fire protection needed, etc. Councilman Anderson was; of the opinion this survey would be a little premature in view of the fact that *• the matter has been referred to the Planning Commission for their recommendation..
