I <br />City Manager Mead verbally reported on progress bf recommendations of the Traffic <br />Study Committee and on parking in the Southern Pacific Depot. <br />On the matter of the Southern Pacific Company parking lot at the depot, City Manager <br />was directed to determine if arrangements could be made for exercising police <br />powers on this lot and under what terms the Southern Pacific Company would leas(• <br />the lot to the City. <br />Resolution accepting grant -deed of an easement dated November 3, 1912, from Tacoma <br />Mill Company was unanimously adopted on motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded <br />by Councilman McNulty. <br />Resolution accepting deed to Lot 5, Block 4,4, Central Park No. 2, was unanimously <br />adopted on motion of Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman McNulty. <br />Claims No. 2085 and 2086 in the amounts of $25.00 and $5.00 respectively, in connec- <br />tion with the purchase of Lot 5 in Block 4J+ of Central Park No. 2, were approvec <br />for payment on motion of, Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman Fletcher. <br />Resolution authorizing Ralph S. Dodge, City Clerk and Treasurer, in conjunction with <br />R. W. Mead, City Manager, to sign all warrants and/or checks for payment of City <br />moneys was adopted on motion of Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman <br />Fletcher. <br />Resolution authorizing Ralph S. Dodge, City Treasurer and either F. D. Granger, as <br />Mayor, or R. W. Mead, as City Manager, to enter the safe deposit box of the City <br />at the Bank of America, Redwood City Branch, was adopted on motion of Councilman <br />Anderson, seconded by Councilman McNulty. <br />An ordinance changing the name of Katherine Street to Katherine Avenue was introduced <br />on motion of Councilman Britschgi, seconded by Councilman Fletcher. <br />On motion of Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman McNulty, an ordinance amend- <br />ing ordinance No. 445 increasing to six months the period of temporary employ- <br />ment during any fiscal year was adopted. <br />A resolution was adopted on motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman <br />Anderson requesting that taverns co-operate in a movement to close at 12 o1clock <br />midnight on Sundays and weekdays and at 1:00 A. M. on Saturday nights.. <br />Departmental reports were ordered filed. <br />Approved claims Nos. 201+0 to 2084, aggregating $15,769.18 were ordered paid. <br />Adjournment. <br />CWE : ES <br />C.W.
