61 <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />DECEMBER 7, 19/2 <br />8:00 P. M. <br />Upon roll call the following were present: Councilmen H. F. Anderson, C.A. Britschgi, <br />E. A. Fletcher, W. W. Hilton, Louis Jenkins, Jr., G. W. McNulty, Mayor F. D. <br />Granger and City Clerk R. S. Dodge. Also present were City Manager R. W. Mead, <br />City Attorney Paul McCarthy, City Collector N. L. Miramontes, Chief of Police <br />C. L. Collins, Fire Chief M. E. Ryan, Building Inspector L. M..Duncan and Acting_ <br />City Engineer R. J. Clarke. <br />Minutes of the regular meeting of November 16th, were approved on motion of Council- <br />man NcIiulty, seconded by Councilman Anderson. <br />Communication from Robt. E. Callogy, 950 Hudson Street, relative to water rates, was <br />read and ordered filed on motion of Councilman NcNulty, seconded by Councilman <br />Anderson. <br />Communication from San Mateo County Tuberculosis and.Health Association. On motion <br />of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman McNulty, purchase of $,25-,00 <br />Christmas Seal Bond was authorized. <br />Communication from League.of California Cities relative to State-wide survey of fi- <br />nancial requirements of Cities for war and Civilian Defense. On motion of <br />Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman Jenkins,'referred to City Manager <br />Mead. , <br />Communication from Mr. Fredrick Peterson, County Executive relative to proposed six <br />year program of Public Works to be undertaken in the post-war period. 'On motion <br />of Councilman Britschgi, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, the city will continue <br />the program now in force and will co-operate with the County of San Mateo. <br />Communication from City Attorney McCarthy, addressed to Mayors of Cities and Towns of <br />San. Mateo County, relative to bringing about a plan to make available the Tech- <br />nical Staff of the County Planning Commission on maters of wider significance <br />than boundaries of said towns and cities. On motion of Councilman Britschgi, <br />seconded by Councilman Fletcher, plan was approved and City Attorney McCarthy wa: <br />appointed to represent the City in the Matter. <br />Communication received from Mr. Geo. R. Reilly, State Board of Equalization, relative <br />to proposed opening and closing hours of establishments selling alcoholic bever- <br />ages. On motion of Councilman Britschgi, seconded by Councilman McNulty, letter <br />was ordered filed. <br />Communication received from R. D. Wyatt, Secretary of Citizens Traffic Committee, re- <br />commending removal of two stop signs requiring stops on Chestnut Street be re -- <br />moved and that the two signs'requiring stops on Spring.Street be allowed to -re- <br />main. On motion of Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman Hilton, Commit- <br />teeTs recommendation was accepted. <br />On motion of Councilman Britschgi, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, Chief of Police <br />will investigate stop signs at the following intersections and report back at <br />next regular meeting: > <br />E <br />
