i <br />0 <br />40 <br />1 <br />1 <br />40 <br />On motion of Councilman Anderson, Chairman of Committee, seconded by Councilman <br />Fletcher, matter of DeHoff agreement ordered dropped at this tbe. <br />City Manager Mead reported on the matter of boarding homes for Children and .the <br />aged, advising that he had forwarded to Dr. Gans, County Health Director, <br />a copy of Ordinance No. 460. <br />City Manager Mead made a verbal report on the matter of lower water rates for <br />commercial gardeners in connection with request of a Mr. Wong. Anaylsis <br />indicates water not suitable for Mr. Wongts purposes. <br />Amendment to Ordinance No. 455, (Animals and Fowls) on motion of Councilman <br />Britschgi, seconded by Councilman Anderson, was ordered laid over to next <br />regular meeting due to affidavit of publication delayed. <br />61 <br />Building Inspector Duncan reported on Lown property. Property has been purchased <br />by a Mr. Prince and building is now undergoing remodeling. The small building <br />at the rear of the lot is being wrecked as is also the old building on <br />Hilton Street. Placed on agenda for next meeting for final report. <br />City Manager Mead submitted report from C. G. Uhlenberg, C.P.A., setting up a <br />suitable accounting system for R. F. Martin, Redwood City Bus Lines. Report <br />indicates methods of arriving at net profit to be applied against cash advances <br />made by the City.Attorney Menifee appeared for Mr. Martin requesting that he be <br />given franchise to operate. On motion of Councilman Anderson, seconded by <br />Councilman McNulty, City Attorney and City Manager Mead were instructed to <br />colaborate in preparing new"franchise, mailing copy to each member of the <br />Council as early as possible to allow time for study. <br />On motion of Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman McNulty, affidavit of <br />publication of Amendment of Ordinance No. 1+45 increasing to six months the <br />period of temporary employment, was ordered fled. <br />On motion of Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman Jenkins, adoption of <br />amendment to Ordinance No. 445 was ordered. <br />Councilman Britschgi moved, seconded by Counclman McNulty, filing of affidavit <br />of publication of Ordinance changing the name -of Katherine Street to Katherine <br />Avenue. Same was ordered filed. <br />On motion of Councilman Britschgi,•seconded by Councilman McNulty, adoption of <br />same was ordered. <br />Mayor Granger requested that City Manager Mead confer wih Highway Commission <br />requesting additional time on east -west traffic on 101 Highway. On motion of <br />Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, City Manager was so <br />instructed. <br />Suggested that Ordinance No. 458 be amended to cover 'live parking" situation <br />and the subject be placed on agenda for discussion at next meeting. <br />Councilman Fletcher suggested that Montgomery Street be renamed Winklebleck Street <br />in honor of the late Sam Winklebleck who was associated with the Redwood City, <br />Tribune for many years. After discussion, City Clerk was ordered to <br />communicate with Planning Commission and Recreation Commission with the <br />suggestion that thehame be used in connection vrxh some park or playground in <br />the ci ty. . <br />2:1t <br />J <br />
