26 <br />Mayor Granger introduced a resolution of adjournment in memory of Patrick <br />E. Leahy and Stanley W. Dodge, Redwood City boys who lost their lives <br />in the allied services of the World War No. 2. Councilman McNulty <br />moved, seconded by Councilman Fletcher the adoption of the resolution <br />and same carried unanimously by roll call vote. Adjournment at 10:25 P.M. <br />RSD:MO <br />R. S. Dodge, City Clerk. <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />JANUARY 4, 1943 <br />$:00 P. M. <br />Upon roll call the following were present: Councilmen H. F. Anderson, <br />C. A. Britschgi, E. A. Fletcher, W. W. Hilton, Louis Jenkins, Jr., <br />G. W. McNulty, and City Clerk R. S. Dodge. Absent: F. D. Granger. <br />Also present were City Manager R. W. Mead, City Attorney Paul McCarthy, <br />City Collector N. L. Miramontes, Chief of Police C. L. Collins, Fire <br />Chief M. E. Ryan, Building Inspector L. M. Duncan, and Acting City <br />Engineer R. J. Clarke. <br />On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman McNulty, Councilman <br />Anderson presided in the absence of Mayor Granger. <br />Minutes of the meeting-oof December 21st were approved on motion of Councilman <br />Britschgi, seconded by Councilman Fletcher. <br />0 <br />ri <br />Communication from Mr. Daniel R. Stafford resigning as a member of the Redwood <br />City Planning Commission. On motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by <br />Councilman Fletcher, resignation was accepted with sincere regret. <br />Further discussion held on the matter of manufacture of dog food on the pre- ' <br />mises at 935 Main Street. Several Councilmen inspected the premises and <br />reported favorably. Fire Chief Ryan stated fire conditions satisfactory. <br />After City Attorney McCarthy gave the opinion that the industry did not <br />conflict with the zoning ordinance, Councilman Britschgi moved and Council- <br />man Jenkins seconded, that the matter be dropped. Under the question, <br />Councilman Hilton called attention to the fact that ordinance prohibits <br />the use of building for manufacture other than that incidental to retail <br />business. Mr. Max Kuehn assured the Council that more than 75o manu- <br />factured product was utilized in the retail business. Motion carried. <br />rA <br />i <br />
