Councilman Anderson reported that the old diagonal parking lines were stili quite <br />visible and somevhat confusing to motorists. City Manager Mead will consider <br />methods of eliminating this condition. <br />Mayor -Granger suggested that- raffic lane be installed ,from pedestrian lane.eircling <br />park in front of Safeway Store to High School• sidewalk on south side of <br />Broadway. Matter referred. to Traffic Committee for their recommendation. <br />Councilman•MeNulty reported hisobservations on flood pd'nditions,•stating that from <br />his observations, the old manual'Iraltigg building was the cause of the over. <br />flow due to piling slowing up run off. Councilman Anderson also spoke on the <br />subject advising that he studied the situation and was of the opinion that water <br />was slowed up between'the Manual`TraltTng Building and the.Broadway Bridge. <br />This matter placed on agenda for next meeting for fer discussion. <br />Matter of Bus Line Franchise discussed. Councilman Britschgi requested information <br />and was informed by City Attorney McCarthy matter would be ready for consider. <br />ation on meeting February 15th, stating further that the City was under no <br />legal obligations to Mr. R. F. Martin but could act on the most favorable <br />bid received. <br />Councilman Britschgi discussed matter of the City pumping out National Motor Bearing <br />flood waters and was advised by City Manager Mead this service was 'considered <br />necessary because of the fact that.the plant was a war industry producing <br />vital war materials. <br />Councilman Britschgi stated he had 'observed that the wall on Oak Street was leaning <br />badly and in danger of falling down. Mr. H. L, Winter advised his men were <br />on the fob straightening up the wall and bracing same properly. <br />On motion of Councilman Britschgi, seconded by Councilman Jenkins, clerk was directed <br />to write Mr. Hal Honore, Manager of Sequoia Theatre asking,.that he attempt to <br />secure co-operation from youngsters in an effort to have them stack their <br />bicycles in a more orderly manner in the vicinity of the Theatre. <br />Claims No. 2289 to 2331, inclusive, totaling $10,206.91 ordered paid on motion ,of <br />Councilman Neftlty, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, <br />On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Anderson meeting adjourned <br />M <br />at 10:10 P.M. <br />0 <br />a <br />R..b.
