Carried <br />i <br />unanimously, <br />City Attorney McCarthy offered resolution providing for placing painted discs, arrows <br />AM— <br />or other markers or signs`to indicate the course to, be travelled by vehicles <br />turning at the following intersection0f, the markers to be placed 'within or <br />ad aeent to such intersections: <br />Middlefield Road and Jefferson Avenue <br />I: <br />Middlefield Roadpand Theatre Street <br />i <br />Middlefiel3.,Aoad and Marshall Street <br />Marshall.Street and Jefferson Avenue <br />Marshall Street and Hamilton Street „ <br />Marshall Street and iWPinslow Street <br />Marshall Street and Arguello Street <br />Main Street and Middlefield Road <br />Main Street and Stambaugh Street <br />II <br />Main Street and Broadway <br />Main Street and Maple Street <br />Broadway and Jefferson Avenue <br />Broadway and Middlefield Road <br />Broadway and Hamilton Street <br />Broadway and Winslow Street <br />Broadway and Arguello Street <br />Broadway and California and Perry Streets <br />Brewster Avenue and Perry Street <br />Broadway and Arch Street <br />On motion of Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman Britschgi, resolution <br />was unanimously adopted upon roll call. <br />City Attorney McCarthy offered a third resolution covering the matter of painting <br />-curbs red, green or yellow at certain points at certain intersections governing <br />.parking. Councilman Anderson moved, seconded by Councilman Halton that the <br />resolution be referred to Traffic Study Committee for their recommendations. <br />Under the question, Councilman Britschgi stated Middlefield Road Bus was <br />loading and unloading in cewter lanes, thereby creating a traffic problem, <br />This matter was also ordered referred to Traffic Study Committee. Motion <br />carried. <br />City`Manager Mead reported he had been denied a Certificate of Necessity for necessarr <br />asphalt, to improve parking lots"at Southern Pacific Depot. After considerable <br />discussion, City Manager directed to study matter further in an effort to, <br />improve conditions with whatever equipment, labor or•aher facilities as may 1 <br />available.. ) <br />City Attorney McCarthy read an opinion regarding legal question of slot machines, <br />games of skill, etc., based on Civil::. Code and various court findings, On <br />motion of Councilman Britschgi, seconded by Councilman Hilton, report was <br />ordered filed. <br />Mayor (banger reported that for some time he would b.e absent from the City during the <br />daytime and requesting the Council to designate someone to act as Mayor pro. <br />tem to act in his absence as, commander in case of' any emergency. On motion of <br />Councilman Britschgi, seconded by Councilman Anderson, Councilman Hilton was <br />appointed to assume such duties whenever. -and wherevertmecessity might develop. ', <br />
