Mayor Granger spoke matter of future possibility of a'hospital in Redwood City Inas <br />much as the present. Middlefield Road Hospital was going out of business, Mr. <br />r . Granger suggested the poepibility of the Behrens property on Jefferson Avenue. <br />as a likely site for such a project. The matter wlll;]pe ;dieeiteeed4. the <br />special meeting February 17th, this being one of the Post -War Projects now <br />under<<,'consideration. <br />Councilman Anderson called attention to poor condition of Southern Pacific crossing <br />at Spruce and Cedar Streets. City Managerwill.contact the Railroad Co. ap <br />this mutter. <br />Mr. R. Dunokel appeared before Council regarding a permit, to construct room's over <br />garage at his residence on.Warvick Street. He was informed no permit would I* <br />allowed for hoxisekeep1bg rooms, but for sleeping rooms only.- Mr. Dunckel will'. <br />take up matter further with Building Inspector L. M. Duncan. <br />Councilman Fletcher spore on the matter of an airfield in Redwood City, ;stating that <br />Y. <br />in his opinion this is a very lmportmant matter which should not be overlooked <br />This matter is also included in•the'Post-War Program and will come up for dis. <br />I I ' <br />I! cussion at the special meeting February 17th. <br />Councilman Britschgi raised the question regarding the.Russian War Relief Store on <br />Broadway buying and selling merchandise, stating that they were given permis <br />sion to operate store on a Rummage'Sale'basis. City Manager directed to inves <br />ligate o ascertain whether or not this store should operate under license <br />ordinance. Councilman Britschgi also questioned license applicable in the cas <br />I � <br />-mo i of auto agencies selling complete line of merchandise in addition to.automol�l1 <br />r and accessories. <br />Discussion regarding Weltner Motors conducting a used car lot at the Shell-,8iirvice ` <br />Station on Broadway; it being the policy of the Council to keep used car lots <br />I <br />off Broadway. City Manager was directed to investigate and report back at <br />meeting of March let. <br />Councilman Britschgi commented on traffic lights on E1 Camino Real operating at 6:00 <br />a.m. suggesting.that lights be operated from 8:00 a.m..to 7:00 p.m.' On motiom <br />• of.Councilman Fleteher,.seconded by Councilman Anderson, the matter was.re. <br />i <br />ferred to Traffic Study gommittee for reeommendation.- <br />+Claime No. 2232 to'2235 and 2237'.t.o 2281, Inclusive, totaling $99831.10 were paid on <br />motion of Councilman Fletcher,, seconded by Councilman Anderson.. <br />Adjournment. <br />x..a.
